Our national animal is fighting for its life.
From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.
If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.
Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.

I think by posting mails, sending SMS’, constructing sites only techizens will get the awareness.
What about the people who don’t know anything?
Save Tiger, grow humanity!
We have to intiate every possible step, to stop these from extinct. We should not wait for Govt., i think the Industrialist have to take this in thier hands. Afterall they are also responsible for this.

Tigers Stories.
The tiger is vahana of goddess DURGA. Do you know that in Nepal there is no burning of Ravana on Dusshera because it is believed that Goddess Durga, riding a tiger, killed Mahishasura on the same day. Mahishasura it is said , was so powerful that none of the gods were able to defeat him. Therefore they met together to form Durga with 18 hands, many weapons, riding a tiger. It thus shows that tiger has always been a very important symbol of power & might.
Tigers live.
TIGERS live in hot jungles as well as in cold forests. All wild tigers live in Asia. Some of them also live in the snowy forests of Siberia. Others live in the humid jungles of Sumatra. And some live in the dry grasslands of India.
Save Tigers.
-: Saving the tiger means we save the forest since tiger cannot live in places where trees have vanished and in turn secure food and water for all.
-: we must make sure that all the trees, grass and other plants that these prey animals need for food are protected. In this way, the whole forest gets saved! Saving the tiger means saving its entire forest kingdom with all the other animals in it.
I hope the tigers do not go the Indian Cheetah way. Many of us Indians are not even aware that cheetah once inhabited our country. It was hunted down in the early part of the century and we pushed it to extinction. Luckily the present generation are much more updated thanks to their exposure to national geographic and Discovery. I for one always was for the preservation of wildlife in particular. I am just amazed the skills many of these creatures have. Can u climb a tree without using your hands like a snake? can you smell a drop of blood kilometers away in an ocean? can u predict the natural calamities? the answer is big no but still we so called superior beings are superior in only destroying the beautiful work of nature. I honestly hope Govt of India takes an initiative and hangs all the people into poaching.
museum is not the place where i want to show my kids a tiger.
let us not make the tiger a mammoth.
save the cat ,serve the country.
its a tribute from my side to our national animal…………

An Ode To A Tiger ……
How fearful , he is …. But our greed and modern machinery has brought upon him , his misery ….
I remember, this poem , William Blake , nothing better can explain the God’s creation - The Tiger
The Tiger
William Blake
Tiger, Tiger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat.
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile His work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?
Tiger Tiger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
Dear friend
The place we lived is near to a national park and park authorities are telling there is no poaching even though the most of the cases where police catched poachers are from our area due to top and proper network the big person are not cought and the poor person whose dont have any source are facing and the whole buisness i sgoing on the very liv esuggestion is that we should involve all the neighbouring villagers just to protect this beautifull cat of the jungle

Save Indian Tiger
India has been home to Tigers for a very long time. If one has seen a Tiger they are just awed by the beauty, power and aura of the magnificent beast. Tigers were found all over India and still as many as 16 States of India are home to the Tigers. The latest census report released on 12th. February, 2008 by the Government of India reports that there are only 1411 tigers left. The population of the Tiger has been reduced by nearly 50% and that too in a period of 6 to 7 years.
It is time that emergency and drastic steps are taken to save the pride of jungle and pride of India from becoming extinct.
The causes of the fast decrease in the Tiger population are well known both by the government and common people. The increasing pressure on Tiger habitats due to agriculture, industrialization and degradation and fragmentation of natural habitats, forests and natural grasslands are one of the main reasons for the decrease of Tiger population and for that matter all wildlife in India. The immediate effect of this is lack of natural food and habitat causes the wild animals to come out of the forest area. This tends to increase the conflicts between the humans and animals. The other reason for the population decrease is Poaching, which has been on rise recently. There is a slogan I have been hearing for quit some time, ” If the buying stops, the selling will stop”. I think the rich people who are the only one who can afford buying the skins for their fancies are probably deaf, as they cannot seem to hear the slogan.
The poaching problem should be dealt with strictly by the Government of India and the concerned State Governments. The Forest Department of India is severely understaffed and they do not have the modern weapons and technology to protect the Forest areas. The laws for the animal protection should be revised.
The poachers should be shot dead on sight. How can a forest guard armed with a stick [danda] or an outdated rifle fight the heavily armed poachers to protect the animals. It is time the Government of India acts urgently.
The people of India should also join hands to save the Tiger.
Save the WildLife Please…….!
While the Tiger is clearly on a slippery slope, its the “Indian Jungle” the entire ecosystem, the very habitat itself which is under threat. Understand the issue in depth and each one of us will know what needs to be done and what can be done! Will suggest http://www.sanctuaryasia.com for a closer view on issues at hand.

Grrrrr…Stripy..I Have Come!!!
I feel that tigers should be properly taken care of. The govt can improve their protection facilities. The most important thing is that the Government should take more and more strong steps to BREED more tigers. I feel by saving them and breeding them we can surely save our national pride.
This is a shame for our country that just 1411 tigers are left in whole India!!! Tigers represent the national animal of our country but the so-called poachers are just killing them one by one like playing games and shooting them for their own benefits. I strongly recommend the Indian government to commit severe punishments to those who are responsible for this situation to arise. The villagers who face the problem of tiger intrusion into their areas, they must be given a provision for using tranquilizers (some of them should be trained for doing that) instead of killing the tigers as killing is not the solution. If this is impossible then the Indian govt. should make it sure that tigers don’t get into the areas where the villagers reside. The government should think about this, as sitting in a metropolitan city and making comments on internet about the villagers is easy but facing such problems in real-life leaves them no options other than killing tigers as they are wild and carnivorous (man-eaters). In my viewpoint, tigers will not get wild if they are permitted to grow up from the initial stage with man as other pet animals (after all they belong to the cat family only)….there should be a license for that and not everyone can do it but there are people who have the abilities to do that both financially and mentally. There are animal-lovers in India too. I hope my ideas will help a little to save the PRIDE OF OUR COUNTRY, THE TIGERS. I wish all the best to this initiative to save TIGERS.
Hello all………….tigers are one of the most beautiful creatures on earth…………….m sure all of us want them to stay….our forthcoming generations must not see them only in pictures…………….here is our chance to do something………….let us ensure that these beautiful creatures never fade away…lets join the effort…every little bit counts.

Hi Friends!
Recently I have been to Nallamala Forest from Mannanur region. Its a Tiger Reserve. I could not spot them but I have spotted some foot prints. Its a good sign to all of us. More over i came to know that one of the Tigers has recently given birth to an young one. The forest department doing their best in protecting the area from the poachers and other smugglers. Here comes the shocking news. The Department do not have the funds to pay the salaries to employees and trackers. Trackers are the local tribal people who works very efficiently and who goes on a trek on daily basis at least of 10 to 15 kilometers by walk and they were not paid for past 8 months.
My comment here is that the department budget has to be raised or at least the existing package has to be paid in time. Once the employees loose their interest on their job, then its too difficult to save the forest.
Stick to the basics and try to sort the problem right from scratch.
I would tend to agree about the ad, which is being shown on TV. Please the poor cub looks so petrified and lost, I know the purpose is to jolt common man and take NOTICE, but for animal lovers like me it almost reduced me to tears. I would urge you guys to please show, as days go by with our increasing numbers , that it is being re-united with its mother. The message can read, if we all contribute in whatever little way we can, we can SURELY find the cub being reunited with its mother happily. Please change the ending of the ad if possible after a few weeks, showing the numbers who have joined to fight for the national animal, their contributions and how all of us can do better in making a difference.
Dear All, Shit on them who involved in killing tigers….. use skin for decor….. But any of you ever think that what is the reason behind the numbers 1411. Most of us are always busy in our personal life, lack of sensitivity, fond of shouting on roads, speedy bikes, boyfrnz, girlfrnz, always thinkin of stars that what is their favrt color, food, affairs.
NOW ITS TIME TO REVOLUTE INDIA & SAVE OUR TIGERS. Those who don’t reach by website, we can motivate them with our words. Just spread the issue like FIRE.

in order to avoid this lets save our tigers as well as other creatures found in India
Hello everyone,
This issue really worth deep thinking, we must take quick action against poachers,
who are selfishly attacking and oppressing tigers for their selfish motives. Poachers must get punish for what they are doing to our national animal.
Hang the poachers, destroy all the dwellings in and around national parks and reserves. we will have to forget democratic process to punish the offenders. Rules should be strict and precise as of a TIGER.
politicians will never wake up my friend …….. every citizen has to wake up.This should not done only by politicians we have to help them. just like only you cannot change the world.
educate the people about tiger is must
law enforcement should be such that guilty should be punised
in your own life you love your tigress
People
Even though they are animals,They are our Nation’s Pride.Punish the Poacher’s Siverly.
Put Your Hands Up & Pray For The Animals
