Aircel began its efforts to save our tigers nearly a year ago when we collaborated with WWF-India, both for their invaluable knowledge about our tigers, as well as to support their on-ground initiatives for tiger conservation in India.

We have now partnered with NDTV as the next step in our initiative, providing a platform to tiger conservationists for issues to be raised, engaging key stakeholders in discussions and providing concerned citizens an opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to the cause.

Through the campaign, NDTV and Aircel will bring forth a common agenda for tiger conservation, which will further enable key stakeholders to take affirmative action for tiger conservation in each of the states. Amitabh Bachchan too has joined the initiative as the campaign ambassador and is also showing his support for the cause through his blog .

NDTV-Aircel ‘Save Our Tigers’ initiative will set the agenda for the campaign through a special show anchored by Vikram Chandra, which will engage all the key stakeholders and tiger experts to voice their opinion on w hat needs to be done to protect the tigers. It will also telecast real stories and documentaries on the threats and issues concerning the survival of tigers in India.

The highlight of the campaign would be live, non-stop programming for a day dedicated to tigers, with the aim of creating public outcry and helping to raise funds to protect our tigers from extinction.

The NDTV-Aircel Save Our Tigers initiative will include:

Any support for tiger conservation to WWF India will be used to strengthen our ongoing work in and around key tiger reserves and protected areas with tiger populations*. This includes:
