Our national animal is fighting for its life.
From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.
If we donât act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.

“jiyo aur jine do”
Hey,its not a big curse or burden that we are putting on ourselves. Its also not a blessing that we are showering on otherâs life. But,I want to sensitize that the tiger is our national animal-our faith, our pride.Lets not leave back on taking this initiative.Lets join our hands together to fight for this noble cause. After all 1411 tigers-just like a single drop of water in a mighty ocean. If we cannot save our national animal, what are we upto.We should realise this and render our helpful hand to this endangered animal.Lets take an oath to preserve it,like our monuments.
WE HAVE TO SAVE THE TIGERS SO WE CAN MAKE A JUNGLE WHERE WILL BE ONLY TIGERS AND MORE ANIMALS. THERE WILL BE NO HUMAN BEINGS. THEN WE CAN SAVE OUR NATIONAL ANIMAL.
I AM 7 YEARS OLD THIS IS WHAT I THINK.
I dont know much how to save our National Animal. But i would really like to say one thing. I would love to support for saving our national animal by any means i can. I am totally against poaching. Its really very bad on our part as humans to do such a bad thing like this. I think people who are involved in poaching are not humans. I will be glad to help in any way i can to support for this cause.
What is the use of these Tigers? What they do for us.. They can only harm us. Its better we kill all the remaining 1411 Tigers as soon as possible. We do not gain anything with these tigers . This site cannot save tigers. they just need money . I will create a kill our tigers website to support killing of tigers…
Hi..
The Advertisement of the small helpless tiger cub with lot of pain of being alone & a hope of seeing his mom come back soon is what made me sit back and think about the plight of these massive & engimatic creature. Who would have thought that they can be at the verge of extinction.
I have pledged & would request each & every human being with a little love towards animals to go out & out for the cause & save these magnificent beauty.
Our National Animal is our responsibility…..lets save them…..(it will also save our children from learning a new leason / chapter i their syllabus, about how there used to be tigers…what they used to look like…& the lengthy process govt took to change the national animal…if they got extinct)
WE ALL SHOULD NOW STOP SAYING AND START DOING - WE SHOULD START REALIZING WHAT WE ARE ABOUT TO LOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIS IS JUST THE START

Look at this … This is all we need to do to save our tigers… ANY1 INTERESTED ?????????? I guess no one wants to save the tigers
i love tiger and i love every animal but you know who is one of the dangerous animal it is man. i just want to say that to those who killed these inosent animals what happen when someone killed yours lovingone. our constitute should becomes strict and killed those who killed animals. thank you to those who starts this initiative.i m with you and we will succeed.
Tigers are just not animals, but in our indian culture we share their space with godess, we have to do something by which we can keep an eye on poachers. there are several post of forest guards vacant and our govt is just not concerned to fill up this posts,we can start some breeding programesour even tiger farms as in china, which is roughly having a population of around 6000 tigers in thier farm through sucessful breeding, friends by just writing blogs wont help,we have to do something & take the responsibility in our own hands ,thankzz .for any help from my side, i am always there
I think instead of saving Tigers, we need to save our Forests. If we save our Forests, automatically all animals would be protected. Here is my opinion on this,
a. Identify encroached lands near to all forests, even
if it is been encroached by mining landlords.
b. Take back the encroached lands
c. Grow trees in encroached lands and in forests
d. Build water ponds in middle of forests
e. Set up special courts to punish persons who are
trying to encroach forest lands
If we do this, automatically our forest reserve would go up and number of animals would increase. It would be nice if my idea goes to environment minister and President/Prime Minister of India.
If any tiger kills any human being then we finish that tiger by kill him. Now time has come if any human being kill any tiger for any reason except self defense he or she should be HANGED TILL DEATH. Moreover We are making mess by cutting trees for our benefit, we have stop that so that in future none of the animals like Tiger need others help to protect them to being extinct.
Hello Everyone,
It is such a shame and pity that we are losing our national treasure and themost beautiful animal. WAKE UP guys and put in all your efforts to save TIGERS from those crule hunters……We also request indian govt. to enforce strict laws against all those who dare to hunt tigers or any other wildlife animal………
I get to hear/watch/read about âsave tigerâ. but none is telling me ‘howâ ?? as a citizen, living in a city, how can someone like me help save tiger ?
Let us all stand for the ROAR together. Our ancestors killed these beauties to prove their courage and bravery… but they forgot that while acting for courage they lost some amount of HUMANITY…… Let us make up for their mistakes… its never late to start something GOOD…..JOIN THE ROAR INDIA….
i feel petty on that cub
i request our govt to take some stern action against those who hunt our national animal for money
plzzzzzzzzz !!!!!!!
behave like human, save tigers
It`s very depressing when u look at the scenario , New rules and Regulations need to be formed . Better initiative are to be taken .. I don`t want these awesome , athletic creatures to get vanished . . so save our tigers . . I`ll do what i can and so should you….

Its really very shocking and shameful on the part of we Indians to learn that our so called national heritage is on the verge of extinction. If we still do not wake up and take a strict initiative then that day is not far away when there will be no tiger alive in our country. Please take the initiative and make the government understand that the one who is killing tigers must not be left so easily. I request the people of my country to come together for a good cause which essential for a better India, our India.
Please think over it.

SAVE TIGER SAVE THE PRESTIGE OF OUR COUNTRY
punish people involved in poaching ,leave them infront of tiger let tiger punish them.remove everybody from reserve forest,no entry for humanbeing.please give our national animal a breathing space.
The Tiger represents a high Profile symbol of the incredibly rich biodiversity that our country is blessed with. Not only is it a one of the most Regal and Noble Beasts ever created by millions of years of evolution, but as a top predator and a Flagship species it plays a vital role in maintaining the Delicate Natural Balance that we humans are so hell bent upon destroying, which has already led to numerous problems like Global Warming. Tigers help protect the Forests from overgrazing by the plant eaters by keeping their numbers in check and hence allow forests to propagate and generate life giving oygen which we ultimately breathe. Apart from these scientific reasons, there are also some selfish reasons for humanity to save this magnificent Animal. If we lose the Tiger, not only will we lose our National animal, but also the right to give eco advices to the rest of the world who will simply give it back to us, “oh look whoâs talking,, you indians couldnt even save your tigers, and you have the audacity to question the environment issues of other countries”. If an impoverished country like Kenya can take drastic and unprecedented steps to save the poaching of their elephants, then surely an emerging superpower like INDIA can more than afford to protect and save its greatest asset, the remaining Tigers.
Hiii All..,,
i would like to say gusy its time to move on dear… we have to do sumthing for same, coz its our national animal peoples…so what are u waiting for………its the matter of our national prestige.
sooo My dear Frds,,,,….
Save Tiger & prove that u r a gentleman & true INdian.

From 40,000 to 1,411!!!??? Câmon India wake up….TIGER is our NATIONAL ANIMAL…..I solemnly request all the hunters stop hunting the strength and heritage of India.Do not kill the TIGER for just making money out of it…
Just imagine the zoo or the sanctuary or the jungle without the tigers….you will be showing the pictures of tigers in the book to your children and they will be told “Baby this is our national animal and you are so unlucky that all are killed..so you have to enjoy looking ‘em in pictures only…”.In zoo you will find only birds, bears, may be the lions and ‘THE PICTURE OF OUR NATIONAL ANIMALâ behind the cages.
Please protect their territory as well as donate for them as to be an INDIAN.
“SAVE OUR TIGERS” and let your children enjoy watching them in their natural habitat.
There are very few people who understand the true importance of protecting the tiger. Most people feel it is only a matter of saving an animal that makes a beautiful sight to see. This reason only makes up a fraction of why we need to save this incredible animal. The tiger is at the top of the food chain in the jungles that it roams.
The following is a very basic description of the chaos that would ensue if the tiger became extinct. If this was to happen, the populations of prey species like Spotted deer and Sambhar would burst at the seams. This excessive population would then totally ravage itâs food source - vegetation. If the vegetation in the jungles was devastated, where and how would the insects survive. They may even shift to the crops in farmlands. If the plants in the jungles would be finished, what would refurbish the soil. If the soil was no longer fertile, new plants would not sprout. Over the years, this would probably mean the end of the jungles.
The end of jungles also means the end of the biggest suppliers of the oxygen filled air, which we take so much for granted. This is a very simple layman description of what the result of tiger extinction could mean to our own survival. The truly scientific description is even more alarming and drastic.
It is important to realise at the outset, if you are intending to help in this line, that protecting the tiger does not necessarily mean working in operations dealing directly with the tiger. It could easily mean working on assignments dealing completely with villages in Park buffer zones, other animal species, welfare of staff working in reserves, villagers, issues dealing with cattle grazing, etc. The one thing that is common with all these assignments is that they are all directly or indirectly aimed at protecting the jungle and itâs inhabitants, which obviously includes the tiger.
The main thing that requires a mention here is that if you care for the tiger and want to do something about it - the time is NOW. Act - before itâs too late.

To keep an equal balance or we can say to protect the right share of land with two kinds, mankind and animalkind god gave mankind enough brains and animals enough claws.
We were under par when we were playing with stones. Both were at par when we discovered bronze and metal, when someone with his out of the box thinking to protect himself from other brains created GUNS. Another with believing of himself as the MASTER of ALL started using it for pleasure, that was the moment when the balance tipped to one side.
Some politicians will have to look beyond wote bank. Enclose the forest with electric fences and monitor those fences. Put the caught poachers at jobs to track othe poachers because they know them better than anyone else. And for god sake kick not keep the villagers out of the forest land.
I would not be surprised to see India having the LEAST COUNT of its NATIONAL ANIMAL and NATIONAL BIRD with other contries having their respective count.
Hi,
My name is Anupam and iâm also roaring for these tigers to be saved and not to be killed so that one day even they donât extinct as Dinasaurs.
Do u know what do our national animal needs?????? Well it needâs more safety & security….. So we need more reliable forest guard who can protect our tigers from the greedy poachers……
First… were we waiting for a number 1411 to start this movement. Why this was not started long before why at the Verge of extinction. I appreciate the concern raised but its very late. Its like saving humanity after nuclear bomb exploded. Second have been following news items and events on the same regularly. Recently in some news channel dont remember the name a story about the tiger poaching was shown in which a villager was explaining about how the money is divided where in given something as bribe so as to continue poaching. I believe this story as without great power a deadly reduction of count from 40000 to 1411 will not happen considering the poachers to be individuals and not an organisation country wide like terror groups which cannot be controlled and our democratic system is so Hippocratic that vote bank politics wins over everything even for that matter sacrificing life of a marvelous animal. I Blame only Govt for this for not having transparent systems to control same. No organised security cell hardly any responsibility and accountability down the order no stringent punishment, law and order for killing tiger, as killing national animal is killing national pride a terrorist in a way. responsible Man power needs to be increased atleast 10 times as of today with also increasing the presence of security in the area Strong steps needs to be taken by the govt to maintain habitat of the tigers need to relocate villages which occupy the same I am confident that citizens across nation will contribute for relocation expenses if concerns raised by the govt.. Govt should be ashamed of itself for building up such a Hippocratic money eating system.
I have written a play on this issue. Check it out on http://www.pushkalshivam.blogspot.com
Hi, I am a Veterinary doctor in uttrakhand govt. I have conducted several postmortems of wild animals including leopards & tiger. I have seen various reasons for the deaths in wild animals. I want to share some, may be it can help other technical and non technical persons to save the wild animals and particularly tigers in our country. For technical help, Ofcourse I am there always.
Nontechnical Aspects:-
1. Killing of tigers by poachers. 2. High poulation density interferring in forest areas. 3. Permission given by govt. to vangujjars to live inside forest areas. 4. Lease granted in forest areas for limited agricultural activity. 5. Shortage of trained forest staff for combing in forests.
Technical Aspects:-
1. No exposure of vets in wildlife treatment and rescue. 2. No breeding policies for captiviy breeding. 3. No rescue center or indoor hospital facility for wild animals as we see in zoo. 4. No exposure of veterinary students in wild life national park or sancturies. 5. No/less training in wild life management & technical aspects. 6. Less facility for technical persons.
These ideas emerged in my mind because of my work in this field and I think it should be a moral duty of every citizen to take care of wild life in every aspect. Jai Hind.
TIGERS was selected as the national animal of INDIA because the no. of tigers in INDIA at earlier days was greater than any other country.. And also the animal tiger tells us a way to live proudly…but now the no. of tigers remains just 1411 that is very sad…i cannot imagine how a person can kill a tiger..when a saw a tiger in TV i just feel wow what an animal it is.. i feel like i am watching a real king with so much natural decoration on all over the body..Tiger is the Ruler of the jungle and of the whole world i can say.. if the tiger extinct we will lost our pride and our KING…BUT a single problem is that how can a human can help in saving the tigers…a person when donates some money for the tiger saving programs the money which is collected by the people of INDIA go to waste or “distributed” you guys know actually what i mean to say…the corruption…i know each pure heart of INDIA wants to save there RULER the TIGER…but they just cannot succeed……..I some times feel that why the TIGERS are fantastic why they are just beautiful why they are the KING…because this is why they are decreasing BUT also because of this the TIGER should remain alive forever and I am one of those INDIAN who let it be done….!!!
its a step in right direction . lets help to create awareness at all possible levels and work with sense of urgency .
Please donât losses the our contry valuable animal, Please save the tigers & make a true indian.
Lets get some concrete ideas and suggestions on how we can all help stop poaching. Sometimes creating a noise is just not enough
Pls Pls each and every indian try to protect our national pride by protesting tiger hunting and support Save our Tiger theme
hi,, bringing about a change doesnât only mean changing world around u!!!!!
change begins within urself,, so plzzz feel for our national pride and do ur best for the unspoken king>>
Tigers are not only the national animals of India, theyâre also the most majestic animals of the world. The animals I love the most are the white tigers of Bengal. Theyâre very legendary and the cubs are really adorable like Stripey! I was really annoyed when I saw the advertisement on Television that their specie is extincting in India. I knew it that itâll happen someday, but its not the way how it should be! We should definitely try our best to save them! But thereâs one more bad news….. You guys know that Gorillas are also endangered? No!!! EVERYONE PLEASE REQUEST FOR HELPING THE TIGERS BY WRITING BLOGS, SHARING MESSAGES, JOIN ONLINE COMMUNITIES OR ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN TO SPREAD THE MESSAGE ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!! ITS THE HUMANS RESPONSIBILITY, ITS OUR RESPONSIBILITY!!! The tigers are on Earth even before us!! So please everyone RAISE YOUR VOICE!!!
time is running out for our national animal.people have to realise this as well as the govt.its time the prime minister should do something substantial to check this dwindling numbers when he himself took a special interest in this.otherwise the time isnt far away when we will see this beautiful national animal of ours in photos and films only.people in charge of this prog.should instigate the public into this more and should show us ways to do our bit
HEY PLS HLP OUR NATIONS PRIDE. DONT LET THEM BCUM THE HISTORY………………..
IF IT GOES LYK THIS 1 DAY WILL CUM WHEN OUR CHLDRN OR GRNDCHLDRN WILL ASK”DADDY, WHO WA THIS TIGER”……………
Excellent Campaign should be taken to all schools and colleges across india and a big publicity campaign on TV to save the tiger. The government must allocate more resources to save the tiger.
I AM FROM CALACUTTA . TRULY SPEAKING I NEVER THOUGHT TO COME TO THIS SITE AND SAY ALL THESE BUT I WAS ENCOURAGED BY MY COUSIN MOHIT AGARWAL WHO IS A VERY BIG NATURE LOVER
I DOES NOT OWN A ID S HE ASKED ME TO WRITE ME ON HIS BEHALF
HE SAYS - WE SHOULD SAVE TIGERS BY FIRST OF ALL he says forest should not be cut
PEOPLE SHOULD NOT SHOOT TIGERS FOR FUN
MORE OF NATIONAL PARKS AND SANCHURIES
ESPACIALLY ZOO SHOULD BE REMOVED
AND IS PEOPLE ARE BEEN EDUCATED THAT TIGERS ARE THE PRIDE OF OUR NATION THEN THEY WOULD
KNOW REALLY
Itâs very bad to know the the condition of tiger in INDIA, we proudly say that it is our national animal but if national animal is being treated like this.
Itâs the time to save that animal which is represented as the proud of our country. Itâs the time to behave like a true INDIAN. I have decided to take a step to help this animal by spreading this message “SAVE TIGER” on internet.
so PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ Come with me definitely we will make a difference.
The Transition
The National Pride is to face extinction in the near future.
The question is who is responsible?
We in the jungle of human beings, striving hard for livelihood and fighting for our very own âso called existenceâ have forgotten the value of our lives and our neighborhoods.
The National Animal of our nation âThe Tigerâ never got its chance to survive, the very reason being us âthe humansâ.
The invasion of the human habitat into theirs has been a trend since we ever learnt to how to build houses. Never have we cared about the faucet of blood that has been claiming their lives.
They have been killed for every reason, be it for the R&D for medicine, fashion etc.
Victims for what, has never been justified.
We now remain with just a count of 1411 of them struggling to keep their existence.
I plead all to help this movement âSave Our Tigersâ to keep our pride high and give them the freedom to live moreâ¦â¦
SAVE OUR TIGERS
save tigers by stopping killing and hunting…………………………………….
Save Tigers………………………………………………………………………………………………….
PLZZZZZZZ, come one step aheard for save our NATIONAL ANIMAL- âTIGERâ. if we can not save TIGER, itâs no. falls more.
So, plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,
SAVE TIGERS & BE A TRUE INDIAN
feeling very bad and sad at the plight of Tigers. Itâs our last opportunity to do something concrete to save our treasure and to preserve our heritage. We have the strength to weed out the evils of society and the threat to Tigers. We should stop using all kinds of products made out of animal skin and their by-products. Please, we can all make a difference to their lives and to our habitat. Remember we canât take anyoneâs life when we canât give them back. Pleaseâ¦.
