Just 1411 left.

Just 1411 left.

Our national animal is fighting for its life.

From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.

If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.

Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.

INDIA…a country famous for its culture and heritage, is one of the 12 megabiodiversity countries of the world…it merely has 4.5% of the total land cover but contributes 8.1% to the global diversity…BUT…still only 1411 left…Imagine the condition…the pain…the fear…the agony of the child deprived of its mother…what is the difference between animals and humans if we don’t keep an eye on our actions??? This is a time when our mother needs her children to walk shoulder to shoulder and stop poaching and seizing and SPEAK UP for HER…everybody can be a HERO…everybody can bring a CHANGE… I brought one by ROARING for the PAWS!!!
Hope the country comes together to convert this minute change in a huge one and LEAD THE PAWS towards a safer life to ROAR forever more…

Tigers are one of the big cats. Imagine what happens when the future generation do not know what a tiger is. How would they accept it as the national animal, if it does not exist? Like jaguar, survives in South America and cheetah survives in Africa alone, tigers are getting extinct. So they must be saved. Or else it could be a major loss. It is the largest cat in the world. It is a quite depressing count. Already we are losing the Asian Lion, which survives in Gujarat alone. If we loose even the tigers, there won’t be any big cat in our country. If tigers do not exist anymore in our country, we should be ashamed of ourselves for not saving our national animal.
Please co-operate with this campaign and save our NATIONAL ANIMAL…

  7. Arpita Banerji says:

It’ s an alarming situation and greatly disturbing for all of us. But it seems that only making laws won’t help. We must arise to the need of hour and come together to protect and Save the “PRINCE OF THE JUNGLE”. The tiger’s imagined healing properties and demand for tiger body parts in traditional Asian medicine , which encouage poachers to kill them for their greed for money is the single largest threat to the survival of this beautiful and magestic creature. Not only this the ever increasing human population has engulfed their habitats. Thus, directly or indirectly we all are responsible for this shameful situation. So let’s all wake up and raise our voice and try in whatever way we can to save our TIGERS. Because its hard to imagine a world without these Gift of Nature - Our Regal, Magestic, ADORABLE CATS - The TIGERS “

  9. Sakshi says:

Need to look beyond Poaching. A bigger problem probably is the lack of knowledge on how to treat and take care of a sick or injured tiger……There is no funding on research. A lot of the anti-poaching funds are used to build lodges/offices in the jungles…. The rot is within. We cannot even be sure of this number - 1411

IT is not just about writing blogs but to do something. It is about coming together and do any possible work to its last destiny.Just writing blogs won’t help .I’d like to say,if man can be a shy social animal, why can’t the tigers.I don’t have any economic income. But if i had any I’d had spent whole for them.I’d like to ask all high professionals can’t they donate even 10% of their income for the welfare of these beauties.I’m not saying just for tigers but for all flora and fauna in the verge of extinction.A bird is just about 14 in the whole world.as tiger is the national animal we give him importance. As i said writing blogs won’t help.I stop here.

Saving the tiger means saving mankind..

Not only is tiger a beautiful animal but it is also the indicator of the forest’s health. Saving the tiger means we save the forest since tiger cannot live in places where trees have vanished and in turn secure food and water for all.

    Dear… Peoples

Human Being were Created, because GOD gave them a beautiful gift that’s brain, to make them understandable, think, to speak, to realize, to feel, in nut shell I can say we got responsibilities to make whole world protected. Alas we human , ah are greedy even we know we have life just for some years to live, weath or greed couldn’t be with us after death, if we think this then we doin the sinful things…….Why not we understand? What happen US?

It’s really shocking that TIGERS are about to ………? WHY ? Who is responsible for GOD sake tell me ? Does tigers ruin humans life? Lots of questions are in my mind…..I think no …..

Now dear all , with blog or to share concerns, it’s right but does it work? What we should do?

We have to protect all over universe/universe all Almighty’s creatures…………

SHOCKING!!!! Our national animal put to the test of extinction……Poaching, poor animal upkeep, low awareness and threatening the natural dwelling of such a majestic animal is criminal, if not anything else! What’s more, is that, do we realise that as an animal when we see our numbers dwindling, our desire to live on, breed, be happy and without fear, also diminishes. It is but just a natural feeling in all us animals. The Tiger is no different!

The Tiger is as sacred as the national anthem, a temple-mosque-church-gurdwara, our own blood-family….so let’s all join hands and protect our own!

  17. paridhi agarwal says:

Its high time we should do something about it our national animal fighting for its right we need to act now its our duty to fight for their rights we have save them so come be a part of this movement come be the change of our living planet save tigers save our planet

i will only say that we have save our KINGS OF FOREST at any cost

  19. Jagan Karthik says:

It wouldn’t have been this worse had we done our individual part in tact. people don’t switch their engines off at signals, the father wants yet another home to be built on the outskirts of the city which was once the home of some rare species of insect or a bird or a mammal. If these “oining hands for stripey, creating blogs, rallying”will really make a change I will be the happiest person for the stripeys. but i am afraid these will make any change at all… i am writing this comment here on a public network…. tommorrow some tom, dick and harry will read mine as i did… but someone out there, under cover is waiting to hunt down a tiger just because it gets him those government printed, governor signed papers… filthy souls hunt down wild life just for pleasure or MONEY… we wouldn’t want to create yet another blog for another animal some umpteen months later… do we? they wouldn’t have gone this down in numbers had we not destroyed their habitat.. had we not cut down the trees.. had the filthy souls not hunt them down. my eyes really watered the moment i realised the cub was deprived off its mother.
how many TV channels made shows about bio diversity, or tiger reserves before this disturbing number “1411″ came into limelight. they have enuff to capture on movies, drama and celebrities… they wouldn’t want to waste their money and time on what is actually required for everyone!!!! disgusting!!! i am happy atleast about the fact many a people have the heart to speak out on this…. jus think of an ecosystem diagram in a biology text book with the big cat missing on the cycle… disturbing, isn’t it? i wouldn’t be indecisive to skin a poacher alive, should i see one!!! ALL WE NEED TO BE DOING IS TO FOLLOW OUR FOURTH, FIFTH GRADE SCHOOL LESSONS AND ABIDE BY THEM. this should be of greater help to save the big cats, in fact this would save everything on earth and the earth itself. i really wish that those who made this count of the big cats really made some mistake… i badly wish that there are still a “1411″ hiding out there in the ghats…
love nature, love earth, love wildlife

Its a big shame for all of us as a nation. Our national animal is getting extinct. If we do not stand for this movement now then days are not far when national animal will be known as an extinct animal and our coming generation will not be able to witness and see these beautiful creatures.
They are our pride and we should not let it go like this.
I want to thank Aircel to take this initiative…it is very thoughtful and a small step to better future!

  24. Dhawal Dave says:

Lets print Tshirt / caps with slogan save our tigers and sell it to generate revenue for this project.. I am in for this project…

  25. Everybody is talking, writing in the press, writing blogs and showing sympathy ? I would like to see and read about people who are not talking but doing at grass roots level ? I am running 80 yrs. otherwise I would be in the field, becase I apent my childhood and youth in the land of Mowgali.

I wonder if somebody has a list of highly paid officers sitting in Delhi & other Metros and State capitals who are supposed to be looking after Wild Life / Tigers. Perhaps their population may be more than the Tigers in India. They may be highly educated in Forestry / Zoology and other related subjects but do they love animals ? If not they are misfits. Of others who fit the bill , should be where the action is, in the forward areas / battle ground.
I think if you look at the map and the location of the Sanctuaries / National Parks, perhaps all those sitting in Delhi / other Cities should be shifted to work in the field and not just push files. A place like Jabalpur could be made a headquarter for wildlife work. It would cover more than 80% of tiger population within a 500 Km Radius.

There should be a separate Central Service cadre for Animal conservation. People who are living in places like Kanha / Bandhvgarh and do the daily beat on foot inside the jungles should be paid extremely well, given weapons / powers to prosecute, just like Police, have a special magistrate and court for poaching offences. There should be no role of Police / Revenue officials.

I thing I have asked for the moon I wonder if the Govt.(Politicians) have the courage & conviction to do so. Make a beginning and hang Sansarchand.

  26. Prashant Verma says:

Everything make by God in which very amazing thing i.e life cycle. All living things depend on life cycle for the balance of our universe. So in keep the view of balance of our world tigers are play most important role.

So I request to all of You pls keep balance save our world , save us and save Tigers.

  27. Sunny kumar says:

Its time to ponder over, why it is happening so. Our National animal is moving towards extinction, is’nt it is shameful to us. We talk to save our monuments but what about our national animal, it’s our right to give them importance, so move on to save them.

  28. Aravind says:

Till yesterday I like many of you couldn’t understand how we can save our tigers by writing blogs, creating groups etc. This is my personal understanding of how we can make a difference. The present count stands at 1411 and the whole of India knows it. If at all even a single more tiger is killed, all the authorities associated with protection and conservation of Tigers will be held accountable. The punishment for the persons responsible for killing of tigers would be thrown as food to other tigers.

The figure of 1411 is the bottom line and I would want to see this figure going up and not down from now on. Raising our concern, being aware and propagating the awareness can go a long way in not just protection our tigers but our national heritage. Be a part of change, feel the change, do some thing and be a responsible Indian………….

  38. Sanjay says:

We have recognized tiger as a deadly killer, a blood thirsty animal. But standing in this field, we have to question ourselves – Who is more deadly and blood thirsty? – Human or Tiger???
And why have we killed those tigers? – To make a jacket; to make a pair of shoes; to make a handbag. W-O-O-W! What a gre-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-t example of HUMANITY!!!!!!
Time has not yet been over. So we have to be alert and more conscious to save the tiger – to save one of the most beautiful units of nature.
