Just 1411 left.

Just 1411 left.

Our national animal is fighting for its life.

From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.

If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.

Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.

    hi friends,

Animals are innocent and helpless creatures. Dont hurt them. they are our property dont destroy our own property. Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz save our tigers. It means you need not to go to jungle. It means you just make the people with awareness of importance of humanity and animals.

  2. Save our tigers..For if they’re gone.India’s reason for holding it’s head high will go.
This is a sensible nation. We can do alot by just contributing a second of our whole lives to this website.
I have nothing against what this site is doing. In fact,I am very proud that our country is developing into a nation that has not only lots of people but with lots of tigers too! :D
    So..Take initiative.Save a tiger’s life!

  3. I would love to do more for our tigers!
Please suggest what kind of an action should I take to save this pride. :)

I just want to ask that do you want our national animal to be extinct? do you want t o show our future generations only the fossils of the great Indian Tiger? do you want directors like steven Speilberg to make films on Indian tigers just like Jurassic park? or do you want some biotech scientist to work on the last gene available and come out with some clones of Indian tiger?
if “NO” is your reply then arise, awake and stop not till we see government doing some productive and result oriented activity to save our indian tigers…….
the poachers should be punished vehemently as they do not have any right to mutilate national property thinking as their own…most of the time not only ignorant and uneducated people involved in such killings…….even intelligent sleuths are involved in selling the tiger’s skin mere for their personal interest……this happens only because there is no proper checking or regulatory body involved in protecting the life of animals who become more helpless before the human activities…..the forest and environment minister should take this numbers as alarming situations….. and i bet all Indian like me are ready to help financially to save Indian tigers…..because its a question of our nation’s pride……………
just as today’s generation takes pride in being Indian……. same way they take pride in protecting all their national belonging too…….
I NEED GOVERNMENT TO SAY OPENLY WHAT SORT OF HELP THEY ARE LOOKING FOR FROM THE CITIZEN OF INDIA TO PROTECT THEIR NATIONAL ANIMAL!!!……..
THERE ARE CRORES OF PEOPLE WANTING TO EXTEND HELP..TO PROETCT OUT BELOVED INDIAN TIGER

  5. Keshani says:

Tigers are our pride possessions and they are loosing their priceless lives just because of us. Due to our greed for more space, valuabkle fur and certain other things. We have to save them because they are our own. And for this everyone should be aware of the fact that how costly a life is whether it is of a human being or of a animal, it really matters for its beloived ones as a child to his mother. Thus, one should have to take steps against this worse thing by joining a movement ” use according to your need not according to your greed.” and love everyone present onthis earth in any form especially animals as they do not cause any harm to you unless you did something wrong to them. They are innocent and the proof is their innocent, loving eyes. Pis. think of it

Come all rise up for the occasion and do something. Come up with whatever you can. It is the right time and if you won’t do it today, then you will be feeling ashamed and pathetic of your own self.

do u know what is the most touching part in the punch line , Two months old .scared.hungry.jumping at very sudden sound.woundering “when his mother coming back maybe she isn’t ” his mother will definetly come back , we will make this happen . spread the knowledge of how our national animal is unique and how we can protect this elegant cat .

  11. Guneet says:

There are over 1.25 billion people in india and it sad to know that only 79239 ppl have joined this movement. Comeon ppl bring ppl. in … make the govt see that we care and we care as Indians. I think everybody is too busy blaming the govt. for this and don’t see their roll in the whole picture.

Can Aircel ask the govt. on my behalf that, how can the Indian govt. even think of introducing leopards if they can’t save the existing tigers. What were the forest officers doing when the number came down from 40000 to 1411 in just 10 years. This is shear butchering of the tigers only for monetary reasons.

  12. Tiger is our national animal . It is our national animal since 1971 . At this date their are only 1411 tigers . We should do everything to conserve our national animal . If we do not adopt measures to conserve tigers so that the next generation can also see tigers .
I also want to thank aircel to give us the oppurtunity to write a blog .

  13. Pradeep says:

1411 - This number shocked me!! What will we tell our next generation about this magnificient animal? Speak up people! Act now and do as much as possible to save our tigers…

  14. Saswat says:

The world’s most exotic big cat is on the verge of extinction…records show it…poaching oo these animals should be checked immediately…a stitch in time saves nine…we have time enough to campaign for our national beast.

SAVE OUR TIGER…SAVE OUR NATIONAL PRIDE

  15. Mujtaba khan says:

On average there r 1411 left, but the reality is the tiger population is less than 1300.In the past few years Govt.of India haven’t taken any action and now they are immensely worried.
I thank AIRCEL for the work they are doing to save tigers and hats of to them

  16. Sudarshan Dhaveji says:

i think its really painful that we are in such a situation now that we have landed ourselves in a crisis.. that of saving our NATIONAL ANIMAL.. i mean in other countries you cannot even think of getting into such a situation..never the less its now time for all of us..INDIA as a country to wake up nd ensure that no more of our NATIONAL HERITAGE is lost!!! we should ensure that there i no more poaching of tigers..and any activity should be dealt with firmness..we can and i am sure we will succeed in saving our TIGERS!! we just cant lose them..

  17. Puneet Khanna says:

cmon guys lets all do our bit to save these precious cats, they are really atreat to see in the jungle.
Very few have been lucky & iam one of them
If we donot save them then our grandchildren will feel about the tigers like we do about the dinosaur(havnt seen any)

  18. Sandip says:

As we are watching that now a days the Tigers are dissapearing slowly. So as a human being we have to think over it because they are also the part of our life, they are also a single ring of our life chain. Its our obligation towards them to help.

Its my humble to all of the readers pls do our level best to stop the phenomena. So Let’s walk together and protect the environmental chain which will break if we dont do anything…………..

Heartly Thank U to Aircel to take an initiative towards this compaign…………..

  19. Gaurav says:

    Hai all of stripeey lovers.

To stop them dying we need to put our feet on the mouth of the users of their preciousness.
This is the only way to stop them dying.

    Just
Love them like a heritage of the nation.
like them as a family member of nature.
Treat them as a king (real king)
    Save them save our Nation.

  20. Cheetah… a term very much used in the corporate these days. Boss calls you a cheetah you accept his comment with profound proud. Don’t you! so why let this beautiful animal live a life of extinction? If that happens tomorrow the term cheetah will have a different meaning altogether. You are called a cheetah at your workplace …start counting your days as your days are going to last soon!!!!

Live and Let live ! Be a man !!

  21. Govind Joshi says:

Still not too late to save our tigers . I think the central Govt. of India should take the initiative to come ahead and release the order ” SHOOT AT SIGHT ” to any hunter who will be find in National parks
no one allowed to enter the park with any weapon. Checking should be like the same as we get at Airports to get rid of the Terrorist. I consider the hunters who kill the tigers for their skin, nail, teeth or whatever , should be treated like a terrorist to the tiger community – SHOOT THE HUNTERS AT SIGHT
this is the only way to save our tiger. – Otherwise we will keep writing our blogs or comments and one day end up with zero numbers tigers in India ???????.

  26. NK says:

It will be a great shame that will dawn upon us, when the Tigers do get extinct. The tiger happens to be our National Animal but more importantly it is the species on which an entire ecology is dependent directly/indirectly. Can we let this happen, the answer is a NO, and for that everyone should come together and join the AIRCEL cause of saving the tigers.

  29. Hai friends, tiger our national animal so beautiful but still they are fighting for their life.We people doing nothing for them. Its our major responsibility to spread awareness in our society to save and join the tiger initiatives. For our future generation we should create strong rules for the pochers and the tiger hunters.

  30. megha says:

Being an animal lover myself,it’s absolutely depressing to find our national animal in the verge of becoming extinct!!!…just 1411 tigers left….its unbelievable as to how cruel and selfish mankind can be.This should not happen!!it is disheartning to see our tigers suffer in this manner and fight for their lives. Its upto us now to take an initiative in order to preserve the species and help them!Every bit counts…..lets save our tigers.

  31. says:

I really think we all should do something more….India has got the second largest population in the world…we have already crossed the 1 billion mark!….So, cant we save just 1411 tigers ???….there are national parks , wildlife sanctuaries and bioshepre reserves….Also, the Captive Breeding progam is available as well!… So, why isnt anything happening yet ???????

  34. Indian says:

1411 Tigers!!.. and we are still loosing time just talking, provide modern arms to forest rangers, the moment they find the poachers setting up traps or found with live or dead bodies of threatened spices, the only one law should be applied for poachers, SHOOT THEM ON THAT VARY SPOT. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Don’t bring them to judiciary, sheer waste of time and resources, even serving sometime in jail, these poachers will be back in business the moment they got free. So, best option to save tigers and keep poachers miles and miles away, shoot them on the spot. we have lots of population of humans - not extinct, but 1411 tiger - more valuable than life of poachers

  35. save tigers………….

  36. Richi says:

I dont know whats wrong with that guys who kill the tigers just for some money. its a big sin thay are commiting. at least we must do something to save them. So go ahead and try to save the tigers.

  37. The Tiger our national animal……….now only 1411 are left. It is sad to know the way we have let our national animal down………..we humans for our greed and excitement kill animals ruthlessly especially exotic species………our desire to fulfil our needs has taken over our minds and has caused this problem….just by sitting at home or by signing e-petitions we are not making a difference we need to raise our voice and do something such as writing to the editor of major newspapers and pressurise the govt. to take action and strengthen the security for these animals asap. I hope some on who knows an editor or a journalist does try and convince them to write an article and start mass movements in support of these animals this is not just a matter of saving tigers but also a matter of national pride.I PLEDGE THAT I WILL DO ALL IN MY POWER TO HELP TIGERS and i hope all concerned citizens also take action and pledge the same.

  38. Nibedita says:

We can’t let our national animal dissappear!!
only 1411 is left in India
If you are a Indian, then protect your own country’s national animal??

  39. Karthik says:

Tiger lovers all over the world, i need your support to protect our national animal, which is depleting very fast, we have left with only 1400 tigers as per the records I dont know it may be still lesser than that.
Please rise all your voices to save tigers, start campaigns in the local area, write letters to editors of local newspapers to publish the articles on tigers, please create the awarness to save tigers in our country.
Lets all take oath to save our tigers and atleast lets have a target of 5000 tigers by 2012.
    Please I need your help.

  40. Karthik says:

Lets create warness to protect our tigers.
Central government should order for Life sentence or Death sentences for tiger poachers.
Shoot at the sight is the best way to keep the poachers of the tigers at the extinction.

  43. piyush dwivedi says:

    tiger is our national animal.
i know there is nothing new in saying this but i think our leaders have forgotten this and they should wake up and help them otherwise the day is not far enough when they will be history and our children will see them only in thier course book which they are hardly interested in reading.

  44. Abdul Qazim says:

Now this is the time when we have to think about our national animal and have to save them.
Its our responsibility to save our tigers. we can’t leave them on our govt. B’coz they can count only nothing else and I really hats of to AIRCEL who informed to people that how many tigers are left. and I really thankfull to AIRCEL and our Media who shown the fact……..Now its our time to raise voice to save our national animal on the behalf of saveourtigers.com. keep it up be think about it.

  45. gunjan says:

Its reallly painfull to hear that the country which was famous for tigers, a country which has TIGER as its national animal, it’s on the edge of extinction…..for our selfish ends we have become cruelest of ever…..its not the way how humans should behave…..we have been gifted with the extreme knowledge and capabilities by God…..but today just for momentary happiness and luxury we are misusing our brains….we have emotions, pain, sorrow, feelings, suffering for friends and family…..but we don’t care a bit about animals and our natural resources….we do whatever makes us happy and least bother about others….now come on, only because the animals are unable to speak and express themselves we are hurting them….even a humans baby cannot speak till the age of two….so do we hurt them..??do we mistreat them…??
Then how come we are being so cruel towards these animals….just for the sake of entertainment and pleasure we are tortuting them, hunting them to show our royalness….Can we become royal by killing them…….?? According to me royality lies in simplicity and caring towards others…..unless we become peacefull humans we can never experience the royalhood….so first try and be a human and then think about anything else.
thanks for taking this step to save our tigers…..even now we can turn 1411 to exceed……!!please keep enlightning us about wat to do to SAVE OUR TIGERS.

  46. heena says:
