Our national animal is fighting for its life.
From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.
If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.
Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.

I live at Muzaffarnagar which is only 120 Kms from Corbet National Park. I went to see the tigers there for whom the tiger reserve has been made by our esteemed Government. Tigers are the National animal of our beautiful country called India. I am not very proud to read that from 40000 tigers we boasted off we are now only at 1411. what a shame? this is because of us for we the people of India are not very proud of our belongings and instead we look to others for the same and praise their belongings. It is the ripe time that we learn from our mistakes and take a vow that we would be proud of our belongings in future and work for the conservation of the same. Help our beautiful country to conserve rather raise the number of our National Animal Tiger from 1411 back to 40000
What is wrong wid the people of India……………….??????????????????
Y r v guys killing the tigers….jst for our own pleasure….ryt?>???
PLzzzzz stop dis……and Protect the 1411 tigers vich are left………
STOP KILLING …………..
OUR TIGER, THE KING OF THE JUNGLE, NEEDS TO BE SAVED. FROM 40000 ,THEY HAVE DWINDLED TO MERE 1411. THE NEXT GENERATION WOULD SEE THE “KING” IN BOOKS IF WE DO NOT ACT. OTHERWISE IT WON’T BE LONG THAT WE WOULD ALSO BE IN THOSE PIC-BOOKS.
ACT NOW , JOIN NOW!

Hello My Fellow Citizens,
I am Ayushman Biswal, age 8, student of standard II of BVN Delhi. Can we do something to save tigers? I just want to ask those people who kills innocent tigers just for money. Do you think this is the only way to earn money? There are many other ways to earn money. So please STOP KILLING our National Animal.
Be a Tigerzen!
People of our country is called Citizen.
Create awarness to save tigers and ……Be a proud TIGERZEN
I want to say something to all but i can’t express in words….Sorry to say “Please protect our national animal”
Hi every 1. Primary ting wat we cn do is hunt the monster who create the demand for TIGER STUFFES. Then we cn control the hunting.
If Govt rovids me permision I am ready to keep a tigers home.
save our tigers
Greetings to all Stripey fans…
Good to see so many of us coming up in such numbers to save and protect what’s rightfully our national heritage..
Just like us homo sapiens, Stripey’s species too deserves to inhabit mother earth in full galore…and believe you me, it’s encouraging that we didn’t wait until their extinction to raise our voices for this concern..so lets keep the heat up and hear it for the tigers..ROAR!!!
I wish the Shiv Sena would actively take up the cause of the tiger instead of creating a ruckus on inane issues which really don’t help them or any of us. They have made the tiger their symbol and the least they can do is fight for its survival. It’s ironic that their survival also seems as precarious as the tigers. This will be a right thing for them to do. Its symbolic:))
Dear friends, the figure of 1411 may be higher than the actual figure, coz our tiger counting method is old and dependent on manual pugmark counting and tiger sighting and is not reliable compared to western method which use latest satellite tracking of individual animals. It is now or never for tigers. If possible read the famous book written by famous hunter turned conservasionist sir JIM CORBETT, to really feel the grace of a wild tiger. Together we can make a difference by raising the concern to the highest level so that the babus can hear it and do something to save our national pride. Each of us can make a difference by doing our bit of help.
regards,
ranjeet.
guyz! im just a student of grade 8 from UAE but and indian by nationality. its very important for us to save animals. not only tigers but all animals that are present in India.
As being a lover of nature and animals, i am very dissapointed to hear that our national animals population has decreased to just 1411 (one thousand four hundred and eleven only)!!! We all should try to save this magnificent creature. All Indians from small kids to elderly people should step up and do something for the poor tigers. if you do something for them you are not doing it for someone else but you are doing it for your own country, you are doing it for your own national animal !!
I am doing whatever i can do and i hope other people try to help too.
what is human doing? killing such a precious animal only for to satisfy his greed. We indians should take part in this compaign to help our national animal survive, to save it to be extinct.. just out little time to save the tiger… please contribute to save them. just like we have lost cheetah from india, as same we’ll loss our national heritage tiger…….
Wht atonishes me is hw come this is possible with the implementation of so many laws by the Government….?Its just bcoz that the laws r being made but nt pragmatically applied in the nation.
The main reason behind this can be the demand of the different parts of Tigers in the commercial world….
I would like to say just one thing in accordance with this that “please wake-up & see wht we r heading towards,a Nation without the National animal”?
Let us help each other & save this national heritage of ours…..
Please co-operate…..with the Nation….
Stripey we stand by you
Dear Humans,
Please for once shrug off the smug indifference and wake up. It’s high time we realised the world belongs to the likes of Stripey as much as it does to us. Poachers and their patrons are despicable people who deserve the severest of punishment. Shame on those who buy such wares to adorn their walls. They should for once have their own skins stripped off and hung on some regal ornate wall
The Ad is just fantastically made and is very appealing. THe look on poor Stripeys’ face is so touching that one can just decide instantly to come here n sign up. Our national animal is on the verge of extinction and we need to do sumthing real quick n make sure our efforts are not only noticed but taken seriously. Everyone knows how we protest.. we keep fighting for a cause for sometime n then gradually forget it thats why the government dont act or take these matters seriously. We need to show them that we are persistent n will not give up. Stripey im with u….we’ll make this Earth a better place for not only u but also for all your generations to come..I hope these tigers get a chance to show what magnificent creatures they really are.
SAVE NOT ONLY OUT TIGERS BUT ALL THOSE ANIMALS WHO ARE BUTCHERED MERCILESSLY FOR OUR PLEASURE.
I regret to say that if continue on with poaching of tigers, our future generation will get glimpses of tigers only in books.
The simple most measure to save tiger in my opinion is to do fencing all around the national park, suspend the concerning officials if any tiger is found killed.give strict imprisonment to killers and buyers.
i am doing my bit to save the deteroitation occuring in environment in any form by making the people aware about the fact and its consequences through ma website- http://www.biotech4u.co.cc TIGERS are our nation’s pride and when i first came to know about its getting extinct, i was in much shock as i value the nature and always try to help protect it. still i was unaware about what was going on. this is a great initiative to make people AWARE !!
Follow your heart and if in it you still remain humane, please join and let’s save a life together…

Can anyone let me know the count is including all tigers in the national zoo’s ? in such case why not have special breeding centers in the country managed by NGO or say Aircel with public donation …
Great move by Aircel. But somebody please explain how this is going to check the poachers? I always feel that the few tiger sanctuaries in our country need some attention, as they are surely in a pathetic state. Tigers need more attention, more care and good food. And some kind of serious selection system for tiger saving in jungles should be done. More responsible officers, more reliable staff, better equipment is what is required. And there should be newer laws, newer sentences for poachers. Hardly govt has given much of an ear to this call. If this move is going to help i am ready to put my all efforts. So should be the spirit of every indian. When there is a calamity, the whole nation becomes active. Everyone puts a foot forward. But that is a help for humans. Have we ever thought in the same way for our national animal. We heard the snarls of tigers but we never heard their whimpers. We are always fascinated by the magnificient stripes, but we never wince on seeing those lifeless skins adorning palatial walls, as a mere decoration. We curse them, loath them if a tiger kills a human baby, for food. But again we hate to part away from a lovely coat made from tiger skin. Why so diverse? Why cant we think straight? One Question.
Will a human ever love to wear an accesory made from a human baby’s skin?

Dear Friends,
We definitely should come together to save this majestic animal, which is infact a sign of well being of human beings. Today we all are facing the consequences of our own greed i.e playing with the nature. We are a group of like minded people who have formed an NGO named SEWA(Society for environment empowerment and education for women and youth) Nagpur working in central India i.e Satpura Tiger landscape across Maharashtra and Madhayapradesh (One of the continuous and largest tiger landscape remaining in the world) Come join us in our effort to save the big cat. Together we can and we will save the Tiger. You can contact us at [email protected]
Dont let 2010 become 2012 for Tigers… Only 1411 left … Save Tigers
let us not allow this speices to come to an end. We all should make a positive step to save our tigers. They r pride of our country how can we allow our pride to come to an end.
come on people who r still sleeping wake up help us make this roar “loud, louder and loudest” that every one hears the cry of national animal join save our tigers!!!!!
i am not a tiger lover but i support u to save tigers because it is going towards a verge of extinction.People kill ruthelessly the tigers for there own greediness. To protect tigers raise ur voice against the exploitation of tigers. I feel very bad to know that there is only 1411 tigers are left in our country.
some slogans are there to save tigers:-
1. save the tigers
they r our national pride.
2.save the national animal
and serve nation
I dont know if these few words of mine would be loud enough for those cruel poachers,bt i am sure that the day is not far when we will make them realise that they are the worst caretion of nature.Iam ashamed that i was one of the several silent spectators, who did nothing to save the national pride, bt i am better than those who are still being blind to the fact.
I believe u dont need to be an animal lover to join this campaign u just need a pumping heart to realize the pain we have caused to those innocent animals.
please let them live…..
SAVE THE TIGERS!!……should be the motto of the government.from 40000 in the last century to only 1411 tigers in this century its really a pitty how these helpless animals are being killed.its really painful to see the numbers fall down so drastically within a decade or so.this shows the amount of concern we have for this beautiful creature.we should rise up and fight against the animal hunters.our main head should be to save our tigers.its our national animal and we should take pride in saving them.this country is there’s also.they have the right to live.so Save The Tigers is a good campaign to spread awareness about the tigers.we should raise our hands up in promoting this campaign.and take an oath to increase the numbers within few years…………..from 1411 to atleast 3000
1411!!!!
Feeling dejected to hear the no.
It’s a shame to see the plight of such a beautiful animal… We must act before it gets too late!!!
Thanks Aircel for bringing such a vital concern to light…
hii….to true Indian,and true humans………
“we must save this unique pearl from this delicate sea of world…….!!!!!!”
please wake up India for god sake help to save our national heritage….!!!save it…!!!!don’t leave it on govt.of India..they were sleeping…are sleeping…and will be sleeping…we cant just trust them n leave it as it is….
it is a shame full thing that there are only 84045 humans in the world’s third highest populated country who are worried…..no one else is getting worried to save our national animal…..hope this number get increased as soon as possible……god bless OUR tigeres…!!!

Please Save Tigers.
This is a high time to act to conserve this precious germplasm. we should helpour govt. by all means….
Hi….
We got to take some steps now….. It is our only chance, probably the last one to save India’s pride. Let’s create a worldwide awareness by all the means possible to educate the people how precious and innocent these animals are.
The govt. needs to take some major steps to punish the culprits and focus on saving the tigers…..
Friends “Its now or never”……
Lets join hands and make the tigers feel, they are as precious and important as our loved ones are……
For our future generation we should create strong rules for the pochers and the tiger hunters. If we do not help to save them then days will come when we will be have no tigers…..so come together and support them…. And for this everyone should be aware of the fact that how costly a life is whether it is of a human being or of a animal. We people doing nothing for them. If that happens tomorrow the term cheetah will have a different meaning altogether, there was a time when we could prevent it but we didn’t tried?? So lets try now when the sitution is out of control……..
we should get aware for depleting record of our tigers. we should be proud of tiger species as its our national animal.
Even this awarness should spread all over country for our tigers, & plan for hiked numbers of tigers !!
Good luck
I would say,”Act on THE Fact”,as I m Only 13 but still i have joined various organizations concernig animals, enviroment, biodiversity etc. So,the poachers or the enemies of tiger shuld be ready for the war !!! I have a wish to be a zoologist, and i think so that i have put my first step towards my goal .Never think its a waste ,its truth r national animal,i mean r pride is disappearing .and that’s shamefull. What would happen if u would be the one of endangered species ….So,plaese act…Ithink we should teach these things to public in a friendly manner as r youngsters never think about it…so,pleaaaase.
Act now…….every bit counts indeed……lets do something..anything to save these 1411 majestic beasts left……
Yes…….this is really a very dangerous situation ahead of us…We must start to act now..I think all concerned Indians should join hands to save our national animal from extinction…. Come lets make our country a better place for these beautiful animals, to survive…..
KUDOS! to Aircel for the initiative………
Hi all, here’s a link for update “http://in.news.yahoo.com/48/20100208/1241/top-loving-the-tiger-to-death.html”. We are not short of money, but we don’t know how to spend it. Is n’t it disgusting?
Today’s India is a far richer country than it used to be during the 1970’s and can spend a bit more in tiger conservation. The tiger reserves have a core of only 300 sq.km. which is not enough. An adult tiger alone needs 150 sq.km. to live.only making comments won’t work, we need to act. Any forest owning tigers must be declared a tiger reserve having a total range of at least 1500 sq.km. and they need to be interconnected by natural pathways atleast 1.5 to 5 kms. wide. Perhaps this may solve the problem of habitat fragmentation and villages need to be resettled if required and the farmers losing land given a job of forest guard of that area.
Where there is love there is life, hatred leads to destruction- M. Gandhi- Why can’t we love our tigers, our national heritage. Why do humans cross the borders- they are more selfish. Its time that we save the forest, which is being very fast destroyed by the concrete jungle.
Love the tigers and save them, its the least we can do for the future generation.
y cnt v take care of our national animal….
wat makes people so cruel…..
let us save the tigers
How can i help to make a difference? I was mooting this idea about a Tiger Park. The parks can be co-sponsored by industrialists. They can take care of the tigers and breed them in their tiger farms. They can also charge the public a ticket fee for a ride through the park. They can ask for donations from the public. Someone can even adopt a tiger. There are billionaires in the word who can easily afford to put up these parks. Mukesh Ambani is a wild life lover. There must be many other rich people. Way back in December I had created my own dummy ad campaign for the tiger. It’s much like the present aircel campaign. However their cub ad is TOO GOOD. It’s even touched kids. Now how can I or we help?
