Our national animal is fighting for its life.
From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.
If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.
Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.

save our tigers these words means tigers are our life.if they would be on our indian border i t can save us from terrosists to enter in india.tigers are very needfull.save it
This is time for faster decision making & faster action. Do not just wait & watch. we do not have to wait for government or NGO who will come up to improve situation. As a citizens of india it is our responsiblity to save tigers from its instiction. Other wise days are not far when our future generations will blame us. Government has create a stringent laws to ban poaching, They have to put heavy funding for project tiger. remove unauthorised people living around the forest. Do not allow people to enter for any kind of reason like tour or visit. pLease guays allow these animals to leave thier life in peace ful ways as they will not harm us.
In favour of saving the tigers, the forest officers must do something. Today although we are having many laws or rules, some greedy peoples are killing Tigers. So i would like to make a strong request to concern forest officers first to stop this thing done by greedy people. PEOPLE WHO ARE KILLING TIGERS PLEASE THINK BY SITTING ALONE IN YOUR ROOM WITH YOUR HEART, YOU ARE DOING THIS FOR YOUR GREED BUT KNOWINGLY YOU ARE DOING WRONG. ASK TO YOUR HEART THAT DON’T YOU KILLING OUR NATIONS PRIDE???? PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE.
hey i am really emotional about animals. thus am suggesting tu save tigers. i think they will be soon extinct. they are really cute and i love the wildlife. its not about only tigers but whole wildlife is on a threat. i love that video in which a tiger of 2 monthes was really emotional bye for now but always save the tigers…………………. to save this whole world
I dont how those hunters cant feel ashamed of killing those poor creatures!!!
They r our national animal!!!! Don’t buy any types of animal products!!!
With just only 1411 tigers , we just shame our self we must be know our responsibilities save tigers
I am unable to understand how blogging can “HELP SAVE THE TIGERS” .Its kind of funny that we keep writing and do nothing at the grass root level. Guys the least you can do sitting at home is question the government by filing RTI’s on various queries that you think can get our goverment to change or modify the rotten system and do something like adding manpower or making rules more stringent . Well I have just filed an RTI asking “What is the system to physically review and report the health and status of tigers in all the Tiger reserves across India on a weekly basis?” . This is what I have done , I am sure u can also think of such relevant questions and make this goverment answerable so that they start working .
Illegal trade in tiger parts needs to be stopped. What can we all do lets do some brain storming on this……………….
i dont know what’s wrong with our country ,project tiger was established way back in 1973 then why still tigers are been shot down in our country 2009 was the wrost year for the tigers resulting in over 85 deaths… please anyone who is killing those tigers please think of your future generation which would just hear about the tigers than rather see this beautiful & magestic animal if the killing is continued like this……and the government should apply more strict rules on the killing of tigers! save our tigers!
save our tigers & save our national animal
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I request to all indian to save our tigers. but how? Only1411 tiger remaining its time to take dissision.
Every living being has a right to live, and we being humans can not strip any living being of this right. we call ourselves the greatest creation of God, but i guess we are not. i am in medical profession and i really want to help any way i can to help tigers and all other endangered species. i hope we, the humans, come to our senses now. and i hope the Govt of India does something about this..i guess we all need to wake up now..as we are going to be harmed too if the earth loses such a beautifull animal forever….
Dear All, who have participated, and are willing to participate in this humane and somewhat patriotic cause, please let me know what can be done at our level i.e. at general public level, as I can’t see any results from what is being done at higher and so called responsible levels.
The result of their inability to foresee and act has already resulted in a heavy loss at all environmental fronts, including our National animal - Tiger. Leave alone foreseeing, which is an enormous thing to expect from our leaders, they are not even acting or reacting properly, even when the crisis is clearly at the door, to show us all some that proper and immediate actions are being taken to ensure a safe place to live for the pride of the nation and also assure the nation that at least some thing is being done in this moment of the crisis.
The hopes may be or may not be fruitful, from the way it has been till now in India and numbers tell the actual story. So, again I am willing to know and the simultaneously spread the awareness, in form of facts and possible actions that can be taken at the level of the general public to help the cause.
I’ll be a continuous visitor of the blog and try to learn to help our national animal, our nation and ourselves along with it.
Thanks.
tiger is king of the jungle and jungle is like a city of animals. If the king of the jungle will extinct then who will manage the city.So it is mandatory for us to stop killing tigers .We the people of India ,are kind hearted and loving. Therefore we can safe them by not wearing the coat or nething related to animals or tigers.
SO HELP INDIA.SOMEBODY REALLY NEED YOU.BE KIND AND GENTLE.
Dear People,
As we all know that our natinal animal is in state of endangerad. So it time to ROAR for the tiger.Come forward to protect the one of the wonderful animal of mother nature.Avoid using of leather goods;the modern technology should not over come nature and destroy the wonderful creatures of forest.’THE LORD OF THE JUNGLE NEED US’ .
i don’t know why people do it is it just for fun or wat
hunting innocent animals………
and they call themselves human…..they are the animals who live on such amusements
pity on them.
even tigers have rights.
so lets join the movement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey,ppl lets join hands fr saving our national animal………….tiger is in d danger of getting extinct so there is an urgent need of our contribution…..so that our national animal can live peacefully without any danger……..So lets make a loud rrrrrooooaaaarrrrr(ROAR) fr our tigers….
I request all the people of my country 2 save our national animal as there are only 1411 left. That’s a shame for us that we’re killing or national animal ourselves. These beings started entering our range ’cause we have destroyed their homes by clearing almost all forests of our country. Saving the forests also does a huge part in the initiative. Please save trees, save tigers, save our planet, save ourselves……
Sadly what we all write here is not going to affect much with helping OUR national animal as these majestic beasts are killed and butchered only to be sold in some other Asian countries like Thailand, China and so on and so forth where people seems to relish the Tigers every part of the body as a delicacy or some stupid ancient medicine. Though the poacher himself doesnt reap much out of this hideous crime its the middlemen and the sellers in the market who seem to make a fortune. In India you might not see the the Tiger market being prominent, however, in the places that I’ve mentioned above its so prominent and outrageous that it cannot go without being noticed. So, how and who is going to stop them is the BIG question??? How is this blog going to help stop that open market of Tiger products??? Its not only Tiger products that come from India that is marketted but also from their own resource…lets all speak for Tigers as a whole and not only in India! By some way through this BLOG or any other way if we are able to save our so very precious National animal, I shall be the most thankfull person in the world!!!
Unless Govt imposes strict rule/law situation is not likely to be improved. Hunting has to be stopped. Also at any cost public awareness will play a mazor role in this. Specially in rural areas. There are many no of cases where villagers have killed the tigers when it has come out of jungle and entered into villages. Lets go ahead and do as much campaign as possible.
We have to take an initiative to save our national animal so we can preserve our national heritage.Government should take strict actions against hunters and people should share the views with their friends , family , in offices etc.
“SAVE TIGERS SAVE HERITAGE”
WE NEED TO BE ASHAMED ABOUT THE FALLING CONDITIONS BECAUSE WE ARE THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DECLINE.
WHEN WILL WE UNDERSTAND???!!!
ONLY WHEN OUR CHILDREN SEE THESE BEAUTIFUL CREATURES IN A MUSEUM NEXT TO A DINOSAUR.
ARE WE SO HELPLESS?
CANT WE DO ANYTHING?
WE SHOULDNT SAVE THEM ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE OUR PRIDE BUT BECAUSE THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE TOO!
Dear All! As we all know that tigers are the fame of India. They are our National Animals. But we also know that there are only 1411 or even lesser number of tigers left in India. Some of the people are killing tigers just for their personal benifit. Such people are leading in giving shame to our country. Dont you people think that this is really bad. One day will come when there will be no tigers left in India and so its fame.
So, its time for all to get togather and stop this merciless killing. We need to stop using all leather products. We must also stop cutting trees and jungles as that is the place where they live. The King of The Jungle needs our help and we must help him.
“Save Tigers, Save India”.
Dear all,
We are all here to do our part to save our tigers, But i am shocked to learn when project tiger was launched way back in 1973 why we are seeing such figures now ? what was the authorities doing during this period ? We all are aware about conditions of our so called national park, i am from bengal every other day we hear some thing or other related to tigers in sunderban, all our forest are going away to building construction to declare our modern status, damm are build over roaring rivers to tap hydel power pls go and see sikkim once a lush green vally now have turned into a concret jungle for constuction of damm on teasta, so many wildlife and fauna are effected from such construction, who is procting them, are we so much concern for profit and development, cant we leave some part as natural as they were born to be? one by one we will lose some wonderful creature of God, tigers, one horn rinos, etc . Do we really need to wake up / or are we actually sleeping keeping our eyes open. If we lose our loved one we are in so much pain why cant we feel the same pain for these loving one also.
my enarnest request to all lets wake up and hold dear all our natural heritage or we might see Tigers only written in books and video picture ect..
That is the stark finding of the National Tiger Conservation Authority’s estimation report which was released on Tuesday. The report confirms the worst fears of experts and conservationists—that the national animal is living on the edge, not all that far from a perilous slide to extinction.

O GOD ! BLESS THEM WHO KILL TIGERS, ANIMALS AND EVEN HUMAN BEING, BY FILLING THEIR HEART WITH SO MUCH OF LOVE FOR TIGERS, ANIMALS AND MOTHER EARTH, SO THAT EVEN IF THEY WISH THEY COULD NOT HARM ANYONE BY ANY MEANS.
It’s really hard to believe that only 1411 tigers are left in india and decreasing whereas human population is crossing over 1.15 billion and counting more…..We people are not just losing our heritage but also making ourselves shame by dis balancing the entire nature. Now this is the time to awake before its get late and more tigers being sacrificed. We need practical solutions more than writing blogs. Act now.
SAVE TIGERS (FOR THE SAKE OF OUR HERITAGE)
May God bless all of us.
Folks,
They say it’s never too late to begin, off late we have realised that the population of tiger has dwindled which is a really pathetic. If we do not rise , awake from our slumber sleep and start fightining then maybe tiger is on the way of Dodo…Let us not leave a chance for that, let us put ,pool in our efforts and do spread the message to all those possible from schools to corporate institutions to set the wheel in motion. Do spread the message and actively participate to hopefully see the tiger ROARS again this time more powerful than before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our national animal is fighting for its life.
They just need Our Help, i request anyone who’s planning to go for picnic
don’t go anywhere just visit nearest sanctuary of wild life and please donate at least 100 Rs for Our Tigers (National Animals) Health Care
If You all Done It, the magic will be done again……………………..
Well I have some un-autintical ways to help tigers and lions and each mammal who are getting extint day by day… thanks
Wake up people………. ”SAVE TIGERS”……!!!!!!!!!!!
We also need to stop bying things which used tiger’s parts anyway, to stop hunting. Also humble request to all big money maker and fashion friends to don’t buy such thing to reduce in tiger hunting…
Save our national Animal “Tiger”. We can start spreading this news to all the citizens of India, May be some of us will definitely take an action will able to do some thing in this crucial matter.
It’s not just another specie soon to be extinct, it’s a huge part of our heritage soon to be lost, a black mark soon to be made on our nation’s pride. Tigers are symbol of power, courage and leadership, one of the most magnificent creature of god. God created Tigers as he created us. Tigers have equal right to flourish in this planet as we humans do. God gave humans the smartest brain, made us all powerful not to break the balance of the nature, but to protect it. It is our responsibility to protect the Tigers as only we have the power to do so. Let us save the pride of our nation. Spread the word my friends and let it go on until the Tigers are out of the list of endangered species
Dear All,
Our national animal is fighting for its life.
From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.
We have to take an initiative to save our national animal
At the turn of the 20th century, according to sources, India had an estimated 40,000 tigers in the wild. In 2002, based on pug mark census, this number was 3,642. As per the monitoring exercise by Wildlife Institute of India in association with National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), Government of India using camera traps, in 2008 we were left with only 1,411 tigers. This number is so small that they will be gone soon if we don’t wake up to the crisis.
writing just few lines in tis blog won’t help us in saving tigers.it’s a shame on us that today we are becoming environmental consumer for our own interest and entertainment. That little tiger’s mother is lost…. just think guys,,, wat would we feel if our mothers get apart from us. i know that many of you are getting angry on me as i’m bringing our parents butfrom the bottom of your heart!!! please think it in the way i am thinking.
i request all of the participets to contribute 10 rupees every month for saving tigers. i think everyone of you can do this muc for our national animal. remember friends this tigers are a source of income to our country. tourists comes in our country to see tigers too.
sooo,,, friends!! wake up!!! it’s time for us to get set and go.
I am a student of class-6. and being an indian and a nature lover i request all of you to spend little bit from your pocket money and from monthly salaries for the tigers.
[[[[[ I REQUEST ALL OF YOU TO REPLY ME IF YOU ARE AGREEING WITH ME FOR THIS PROJECT]]]]
(I BEG YOUR PARDON FOR MY MISTAKES AND IF I’VE WRITTEN SOMETHING WRONG)
The Tiger is our national animal. It’s a symbol of our rich wildlife & our heritage. Protecting them is not a choice anymore, it is the need of the hour. We can’t afford to loose the entire species altogether. And that is where the number is going. 1411! such a less number for the whole country count! At this rate we’l reach extinction not long from today. Imagine no tigers in the jungles we go in in safari’s! What will be the point of going to sanctuaries when there won’t be any wildlife to see?
We need to rise to this issue and make it a promise. A promise to save & protect tigers. A promise for our national pride. A promise as an Indian!
The reality is, we humans (the smartest of all living beings) could never retain the good things nature offered to us. If we go down history we destroyed everything. We’ve destroyed forests, ozone layer, we’ve polluted the water system, we’re brutally killing almost all animals that comes our way either for fun, food, glory, fashion, mdecial need, superstition etc. The killing happens bcoz we demand for it thus that makes every single human being responsible for what is happening. Today we see the cub lonely in th picture with a count of “1411″, we pity it and a couple of weeks from now we forget it. Nothings gonna change…THE CHANGE HAPPENS WHEN WE SEE A CHILD ON THE PICTURE A COUNT OF “1411″ AND A PUNCHLINE “SAVE OUR HUMANS” . It is only then that we shall realize what we have lost. I hope that that day comes real soon because what this world needs is everything besides US HUMANS. The relaity and irony of our lives is that we only treasure and repent on things when we have long lost them. May the souls of the tigers and all other animals we have killed for our selfish needs rest in peace….. AMEN
Folks,
Let’s forget what people have done or not in the past … what we need to do now is understand the crux of the situation, pull ourselves together and start working towards conservation. The authorities are now just a bunch of callous people who’d rather fill their coffers rather than take any drastic steps towards conservation of wildlife … and in particular our “National Animal” !!! Is this the kind of respect we show so majestic an animal that walks our land ??? To cite an example, the Karnataka government introduced a total ban on traffic through the Bandipur and Nagarahole national parks between 9pm and 6am, after a tigress in her prime was crushed to death under the wheels of a fully laden lorry which was speeding through the Nagarahole National Park. But, just yesterday … the law was revoked because both the Kerala and Karnataka Governments suffered huge losses due to this ban on night time traffice !!! Could anybody please answer this ??? Why should governments act as though they care for the animals … when they actually don’t care a hoot about them ??? Is it just to gain a few votes so that they can come back the next time and fill the treasury again ??? I was actually boasting to colleagues of mine who were visiting from overseas as to how competent our country is becoming when it comes to conservation … only to be let down like this !!! what is the use of us posting blogs if the very people who should take steps in implementing strict measures for conservation betray us like this !!! I think its time that every politician worth his salt should start thinking with a bigger perspective !!! I hope i speak for an entire nation !!!
Political will is needed, from the government. I think the government is not at all taking the issue seriously. Come on, how can be a nation like India be so helpless on saving tiger? It is only because there is no will from the government.
being a common man i just know .. we’ve been trying to do good at few things.. however our journey to modernize and develop has taken a lot back from us.. educated people have increased but basically .. nothing can improve our govt.. they will still remain . worthless as ever. but problem is we - the people are giving importance to everything.. media is more interested in picking up the stories and getting is from anybody’s mouth.. and actually we’re headed no where.. Young india needs to stand up and choose .. we’ve all have said and heard many times but when it comes to take action.. everyone backs off….
“Just 1411 Left”, isn’t a kinda shame?, is it not our responsibility?, is it not our pride?, is it not our thing’s to do?, somewhere we r the reson for the tigers vanishing, cant we be the reason to SAVE them.Killing is CRUELTY, dont practice. Lets not fall, lets rise. SAVE TIGER’S
i think, only 1411 we should kill them all. Because Humans can use the space what tigers are occupying today. The forests and the jungles, should be cut-off & Malls & residence should be built. Or maybe National Tiger Stock Exchange (NTSE) should be built.
After killing all the Tigers, the contract for building should be given to some politicians of India. They are expert in Killing & building, by developing the country on fast scale.
Any other suggestion, please do email me.
Save our tiger should not be in words ,we need to be in action.
1) Govt should take serious action aginst people who hunting the tiger (may be hang out)
2) Residant should be removed nearby forest
3) Not only protect the tigers also protect other animals like (leopard,Lion etc) from the Human animals
Will sitting in front of the computer & blogging in the cosy surroundings help in saving our tigers? Its just like discussing the coutry’s poverty in a 5 star hotel. Guys ! Its psued. Come out there where we fight a battle against our own countrymen to save our tigers.
Who the hell we human being are to destroy the ecosystem created by mother nature???????????
Its our responsiblity not to destroy but save our ecosystem
And one of the major part of this ecocycle is to save our national pride Tiger
Wake up and do bit from your side to save our national pride
I m from garhwal and few years ago i used to see tigers very often ,however its very hard to see a single tiger now and it shows how criticle the sitation is. Locals are very much responsible for this as they do kill tigers to save their Cattles and i also heard people killing the cubs when they come near villege during the forest fire,
SAVE TIGERS
YE SAMAZ KE KI NA DUNIYA KE LIYE , NA KISIKE LIYE , SIRF APNE LIYE,KYONKI TIGERS NAHI RAHENGE TO NATURE CYCLE PURI NAHI HONGI OR CYCLE PURI NAHI HOGI TO YE NATURE KE OPPOSITE HOGA AUR DUNIYA KA VINASH KE OR EK BADA KADAM HOGA.
AUR JAB DUNIYA HI NAHI RAHEGI TO TUM KAISE RAHOGE MAMU
SO SAVE TIGERS PLZZZZZZZ
SO SAVE TIGER SAVE WORLD AND BE A SUPER HERO ( WO BHI ASLI )

We should save this beautiful animal. Govt. should do something.
Save Tiger.
