Our national animal is fighting for its life.
From around 40,000 at the turn of the last century, there are just 1411 tigers left in India.
If we don’t act now, we could lose this part of our heritage forever.
Speak up, blog, share the concern, stay informed… Every little bit helps.
Aircel has partnered with WWF-India to help save our tigers. Explore the site to know how you can help.
Watch this space for updates from Stripey, the tiger cub.
I would really like to do something for the animals. How can I help? I m a student.
Maybe by stopping the deforestation and by making people aware, who reside near forest area. We can do this by organizing awareness campaign in such areas. The area near the forest should be giving the priority for campaign and offer some rewards to people who report such crimes.
Only 1411 tiger remaining

pleasssseeeeeee!!!!!!!!
its really nice someone give attention towards our remain heritage.
Best of Luck to all of you
Dears,
I must first thank Aircel / WWF for a superb advertisement which has potrayed clearly the plight of tigers in India, & is also been succesful in penetrating people’s heart & making us think for it, hence some 2000+ comments on this site…
I am just another person who is always ready to criticize Govt. actions (inactions), & this time too, i will blame our dormant / corrupt Govt. for the number 40000 becoming >> 1411.
But this time, only criticism / opinions / comments will not help.
Since we all who’ve written have a common interest, we all should unite, organize & plan some concrete actions for Tiger Preservation.
its great that big companies like AIRCEL have taken the step to protect TIGERS …such big companies should come forward with the help of NGO’s and save the Tigers.
I am the regular visitor to Ranthambore Tiger Park. What i have seen is that they just the Collers to the Two to three TIGERS only and they claim that they around 40 tigers and its really difficult for them to trace all the tigers. So i would like to suggest that why cant we put the collers to all the tigers. This will help us to save tigers because most recently i have read in the newspapers that the 2 tigers have gone out of the park and the DFO and Forest People came to know after 15 days. till know they are not able to trace them and bring them back to the park. Its very shameful.
One more problem i have notice that they dont have complete manpower. They are short of people. 10 to 15 days back when i went i came to know that the villagers have entered the park and started cutting the trees.
SO I WOULD REQUEST THAT WE SHOULD PROVIDE COLLERS TO ALL THE TIGERS WHICH HELP US IN TRACING THEM OUT…..
Dear All,
As an Indian, it’s our first duty to make our country pride in the world. To do so, I would like to request to all to save our national animal.
Jay Hind…..
Jay Bharat……
It is very sad to say that now a days one beautifull animal like tiger is going to evaporate. And this is very embarassing to all of us that we are doing nothing to save these life. as i think that our government specify various rules, and launching every new project in the name of saving our national animal.but astonished to say that their plan is not going to be successfull as we are not concern about that.
so in some point of view if we the people of india as well as the whole world need to be carefull and concern about a precious life like a human being.that should be applicable for all the government and non government people.
and when i am going to say my contribution to these project is null till date and offcourse i will try to help those people who are involve with this good work.
i think if we are not concern from today then one of our generation will not be able to see this king of king of animal live.
we the are trying to interfer in the life of tiger. today birds cannot be seen becouse of use. so we can see that day by day they to will become extinct so we must try tio
We should all help save our tigers!
its our responsibilty to save them.if v vl not thn vho vl.so i request evrybody not to kill them bt to save them.
there are only 1411 tigers left in India . If it will be going on like this, then our nationality will go down. There cub are suffring from hunger and thrusty.Hunters kill them for their benefit. The Government should also look out for this .So,we should save our tigers not by fighting,by raising our voiceto SAVE OUR BEAUTIFUL TIGERS…
Dear Indians,
Please donot kill tigers and save them.
I feel its because of some useless selfish fellows, who think that they can show how mighty they are if they kill animals like tigers. They should think that killing an innocent animal wont prove them as mighty but they are really doing something wrong with themselves too.
Just think in this way:if tigers wont be there in forest then people wont be scared to go to forest and cut trees and we all know very well that how much harmful will it be if we are left with no forest or trees.Just think everything is interconnected. If people cant think about saving the tigers then atleast they can think of saving themselves or their loved ones from a disaster that may spoil their own lives..
The first day i saw this add in tv the innocent and scared face of the cub looked alike like my kittens…
Everyday after dinner i serve her.and sometimes on days she’s not there (may due to cold or time shifts) i really do miss her.
I feel as if it is a part of my life…and it appeared that it’s just for one day what if she’s gone…
And then a fright rose in my heart what if tigers(big cats) are gone forever??
As an indian it will pain me to say OUR NATIONAL ANIMAL is lost……
As a elder generation to all upcoming generations it will be a shame that we couldn’t fulfill our responsibility
I don’t know what we can really do but from my inner heart i want this project to be a success. My Best Wishes…….
its our first responsibility to save this beautiful,n graceful animal….n i simply love them…n i don’t believe how can anyone hate them…plz plz plz….save them….they are part our family…n i strongly urge everyone to raise voice against them who are against this wonderful creature…..
I feel it is MY responsibility to save OUR Tigers…. DON’T YOU??
1] Why are tigers killed?
ANS: In todays context we have two reasons 1) Out of fear and 2) for money….
In both the cases you’ll find that whosoever kills this beautiful creature is poor, dependent and uneducated.
2] Who’z Purchasing?
AND: Many a times we accuse and arrest people who are caught poaching but these are only poor people who don’t have anything to do. They don’t even know what’z its relating Law (anyway ignorance is and will never be considered as an excuse).
Their is a very big international nexus to this trade. Many a times communities who accuse India for poaching can themselves be involved in this trade.
———————————————————-
The above 2 points were for the reference to understand the basic nature and the reason for this crises. We need to understand that today nobody kills tiger for fun this is a serious business. But people involved in it are either very poor or many a times come from a foreign land. So what can we do? only answer for permanent solution can be education……we need to educate these people to an extent that they understand the importance of this issue. We can not sit on this blog and write whatz happing to save our tigers. we need to go to these small and remote places and make these people understand. Recognizing tiger reserve is not only for reference but to bring to your notice that these are some places where u can work upon. We can not rely on ZP or RS school teachers for this work. Many of these teacher are either not interested are unable to work upon. People are not educated and even if they are many a times it is only for record and not understanding…
I am not saying to stop all your routine work and work in this direction but contribute as much as u can. No money is needed nor much of your time…..whatz required is your attitude and willingness of contributing for this cause….
IMPORTANT: Poachers are not sitting on a computer screen and understanding these issues. If we want our tigers to be safe we need to make them understand and if we want to make them understand go to them and make them understand. So put on your boots and i’ll meet you on the field….

How many of us have visited the wildlife sanctuaries or tiger reserves. How many of us have shown interest in knowing more of how many and in what condition does the national animal survive.
Gr8 initiative this is but ppl visit these reserves. Show your support. See what help is required by the reserve officers. Support those points.
1) Do your bit. Donate what you can. Skip a movie on a weekend , save on a party night. Trust me watching the free tiger walk in the jungle is a life time experience. Change ur plans for the next trip ….. visit Ranthambore.
2) Support the needs of the reserves. Raise your voice. Do your part and then make sure the government and corporates do their bit too.
Act. Speak up. Lead and make sure all follow.
First of all I thank Aircel and the ad agency, who came up with such a touching ad on the TV. The tiger cub is one of the saddest face on the TV these days, which bring tears every time I see the cute little creature. How can we even think of killing such an animal?
In my view the problem is economic as well as administrative. Through this space, I would like to urge our governments in the centre and respective states to improve the economic condition of the people leaving in these neighboring villages so that they don’t resort to killing tiger to earn their livelihood and at the same time improve the quality of administration by eradicating corruption and evil nexus from within the system. I am sure that at the top there is a will, but unless that gets implemented on the ground, things will not change.
I am not sure how normal people like us can stop this from happening as I do not think any of us use any of the products coming from the killing of a Tiger. It is either the super rich, who thinks the display of a dead tiger’s skin is fashionable or the fanatic, who thinks that eating body part of a tiger will make them immortal. But if blogging and a donation helps, I am willing to do it again and again.
Our TIGERS need US and WE need our TIGERS to SAVE OUR NATIONAL PRIDE.
IT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE THAT ONE OF THE MOST MAGNIFICIENT WILD ANIMAL TIGER (PANTHERA TIGRIS) IS ON THE VERGE OF EXTINCTION FROM ITS HOME LAND AND FROM THE REGION WHICH IS KNOWN FOR ITS PEACE, HARMONY AND BIODIVERSITY. THIS COUNT (1411) REACHED FROM 40000 AND IF WE NOT WAKE UP NOW IT WILL REMAIN IN BOOKS, LITRATURE AND STORIES. ONE OF MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT FOR CONSERVATION AND PRESERVATION OF ANY WILD SPECIES IS TO CONSERVE AND PRESERVE ITS NATURAL HABITAT. THE VIRGINITY OF INDIAN FORESTS IS VANISHED AND SO AS OF WILD ANIMAL WHICH RESULTED INTO EXTINTION OF MANY LIVING ORGANISMS LIKE ALGAE, FUNGI, ANIMALS, PLANTS ETC. IT IS THE NEED OF HOUR TO INCREASE OUR AWARENESS ABOUT THE CONSERVATION OF THESE LIVING ORGANISMS FOR THE ECOLOGICAL STABILITY, ECOLOGICAL SECURITY AND ECOLOGICAL SUSTAINABILITY OF LIVING ORGANISMS INCLUDING HUMAN BEINGS AND THIS BEAUTIFUL LIFE SUPPORTING PLANT EARTH. THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE TO INCREASE POLITICAL WILL IN OUR LEADERS/ LEGISLATURES BECAUSE IT IS ULTIMATELY THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR LEGISLATION. INDIA NEEDS A CONCRETE LAND USE POLICY, IN WHICH PROPER EMPHESIS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO URBANISATION, INDUSTRIALIZATION, AGRICUTURE, FORESTS. THE COMPLETE VIRGINITY OF NATURAL HABITAT IS REQUIRED FOR FLOURISHING OF WILDLIFE. FOREST SUBJECT SHOULD BE WITHDRWN FROM “CONCURENT LIST” AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN “UNION LIST”. ALL WILDLIFE SANCTUARIES, NATIONAL PARKS, BIOSPHERE RESERVES, RESERVE FORESTS AND DEMARCATED PROTECTED FORESTS MUST BE MANAGED BY CENTRAL GOVT WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCES OF STATES AND REGULARIZING RIGHTS ONLY IN DEMARCATED PROTECTED FORESTS.
TIGERS:
I M FROM A FRIENDCIRCLE NAMED TIGERS FROM JAMNAGAR,GUJARAT,INDIA
AND WE ARE THE 8 MEMBERS READY FIGHT FOR LIFE OF TIGERS
TIGERS ARE OUR NATIONAL ANIMAL AND THEY R FIGHTING FOR THERE LIFE SO WE SHOULD HELP TIGERS FROM GETTING OVER AS WE R INDIANS AND IF TIGERS R MORE OUR NATURE WELL ALSO BE COOL WE SHOULD SAVE TIGERS TO SAVE OUR NATIONAL PRIDE AS WE R FROM GANDHIJI’S COUNTRY BUT EVERY ONE THINKS THAT HOW NORMAL PEOPLE CAN SAVE TIGERS WELL IN THAT CASE SAVE HOUSE OF TIGERS(FORESTS) TO SAVE TIGERS THIS IS VERY EASY WAY TO SAVE TIGERS
WE SUPPORT IDEA (SIM CARD COMPANY) BECAUSE IN 1 WAY THEY R SAVING FORESTS WHICH GIVES LIFE TO OUR TIGERS I WISH ALL THE BEST TO Aircel FOR COMING UP WITH THIS AD . TIGERS ARE KILLED FOR MONEY THAT IS WRONG THING DONE BY PEOPLE IF THEY WANT MONEY DO NETWORK BUSINESS . ANOYHER WE HAV FEAR THAT IS BECAUSE WE R CUTTING FORESTS EXAMPLE:(IF YOUR HOUSE IS BROKEN THAN WHERE WILL U GO IN THE SAME WAY TIGERS BEHAVE THERE HOUSE IS FOREST) IF WE PROTECT FORESTS(TIGERS HOUSE) THAN THEY WILL NEVER ENTER THE CITY .
PEOPLE SHOULD LIVE WITH OPEN EYES AND SEE HOW WE R GETTING HARM FROM KILLING TIGERS
DUE TO THIS STEP OF Aircel I THINK TIGERS IN INDIA WILL BECOME 2500 IN 1 YEAR IF PEOPLE R EDUCATED
THANKS FOR UR CONCENTRATION
>>/TIGERS\<<
hey everyone i need your help to save our dearest animal ‘tiger’. i feel so much pain in my heart when i hear that only 1411 of them are left. we all are responsible for their extinction. and i really wanna help the left ones. b’cos i think this is only the way left to apologise & wash our sins. we have used them so much to fulfil our requirements & desires that there is a current need to save them otherwise there will be none left even for a photograph.and this would even cause a huge ecological imbalance. so at the end i would like to say that please stop the activities which are causing harm to tigers such as hunting or killing them in order to start a business out of their parts. they too have a right to live & thrive on earth but we have no right to snatch away their rights & lives. so let’s leave them now & let them enjoy their lives with their families.
this is a very large and delicate step from u guys.I wish for a chance that’s how I can take the tiger hunters in a row and shoot from point blank range.my best wishes will be with u.
HUNTING OF TIGERS IS NOT ONLY THE CAUSE OF ITS DECLINE, IT MAY BE ONE OF THE REASON. THERE MAY BE INBREEDING AMONG TIGERS RESTRICTED TO ONLY SMALL PATCHES, THERE MOVEMENT HAS BEEN NOW RESTRICTED DUE TO HUMAN INTERFERANCES BY DEFORSTATION, MINING, QUARRYING, EXPENSION OF TRASPORTATION NETWORK IN REMOTE FORESTS, HYDEL PROJECTS IN FORESTS ETC. BESIDE INBREEDING, THERE MAY BE DECLINE IN PRAY SPECIES ON WHICH IT PREDATE, OR IT MAY HAVE BEEN CONTAMINATED BY INDISRIMINATE USE OF CHEMICALS BY FARMERS IN THIER FIELDS ON WHICH THEY FEED. AS IN CASE OF DECLINE IN NOS OF VULTURE, THE CONTAMINATION OF ANIMALS WITH DICLOPHENE DUE TO ITS VETERINARY USE IS CONSIDERED AS THE ROOT CAUSE. HENCE WE SHOULD BE AWARE ABOUT OTHER POSSIBLE REASONS OF DECLINE OF TIGERS. HENCE BEING A INDIVIDUALS WE SHOULD RESTRICT OR MINIMISE THE USE OF CHEMICALS IN OUR DAY TO DAY LIFE. GO FOR ORGANIC. AS A COMMON MAN WE CAN CONTRIBUTE LIKE THIS.
providing collars to tiger’s is certainly not the rite alternative,,, who r we to interfere in their privacy n the way they live,we r not suppose to ,,,,,,for instance ,,if we do put collars on every tiger’s then also they r not safe,,,,we have to provide safety to them,,which cant be done by Collars n by tracing them
instead the concerned authorities have to take some steps in order to make fencing around the national parks,,,and to make sure the proper guarding of the reserves.
certainly more GUARDS are need to be deployed,,,,,, the authorities have to implement the laws Strictly,,new harder laws are needed,,,,and also the forest guards are need to be provided with proper Arms for self defence not from animals but more from Porchers,,,,this is the main reason guards dont report to any1,,,,,cant do anything if someone is willing to,,,,,they themselves are helpless Poor people
tigers r killed becoz of 1.) Corruption > 2.)Lack of fear from Law and order > 3.)greed for money > 4.) then at last in self defence or fear
i m really anoid by the fact once the porchers r caught nothing is done against them,,bloody corrupt people
just correct the corruption for that strict implementation of Law is required,,,, do it ,,,,and see the ,,,change,,,and along with this provide proper Arms to the forest Guards,,,,,,,,,, if the indian govt cant do this in all national parks,, atleast they can start initially in few Reserves,,,,,
then We can save each n every Specie about to extinct due to porchers
fear of death is the factor which can compell a person to do anything,,,,,,the same way this can stop any1 from killing others.
stop India-based Neutrino Observatory (INO) in masinagudi. it effects the tiger roaming corridor and effects the bandipur and mudumallai forests badly

Our TIGERS need US and WE need our TIGERS to SAVE OUR NATIONAL PRIDE.
WE INDIANS HAVE TO JOIN OUR HANDS TO SAVE OUR NATIONAL I AM WITH THIS MOVEMENT ALONG WITH MY FRIENDS.GOVERNMENT SHOULD MAKE RULE THAT IF ANY BODY KILLS TIGER SHOULD BE HANG TO DEATH.
PLEASE JOIN THE MOVEMENT.
hi friends ,
Im from Hyderabad. thanks to aircel and WWF for making such a heart touching video on SAVE OUR TIGERS .
this matter does end here this idea of conserving them has to be taken to the hearts of people of India. every one has to come forward to contribute his efforts like creating awareness of tigers,a financial supports to the org, volunteer him/her in this great project.
I think we ppl should also play an active role.
advertisement should be made more and broadcasted
local celebs should also take part in this event .this should be made popular by making a RALLY or something like that
Dear friends,
please take this issue on your top priority. In this world especially in india mother is our god. We are all loves our mother very much. Like the same for our tigers and with their cubs also. If his/ her mother wont return means how could they live. Whho will feed them? If this situation continues their generation will bw no more… So please friends help them. And we are should thank our Aircel for this message and i wish them all a very best to continue their services over this. I hope that soon it will get a huge backup.
Thank you one and all and please forward this to any one tleast to save our children.
TIGERS ARE REALLY ESSENTIAL FOR OUR WORLD BECAUSE EVERY ANIMAL ON THIS PLANET HAS ITS OWN ROLE IN THE MOTHER NATURE.
IT SIMPLY DISTURBS THE FOOD CHAIN
IF TIGERS ARE GONE NUMBER OF DEERS WILL BE INCREASED THIS CAUSE OVERGRAZING THE SOIL LOSSES ITS FERTILE NATURE THIS ALSO MAY CAUSE A LAND SLIDE EVENTUALLY RESULTING LOSS OF HUMAN LIFE’S.
IN THIS YEAR CHINA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NO OF TIGERS IN INDIA (1411) BECAUSE THIS YEAR THEY HAVE TIGER YEAR THEY USE THINGS WHICH ARE TAKEN FROM TIGER’S BODY THEY BUY SKIN THEY BUY NAILS THEY BUY BONES
TIGERS CAN ALSO BE PROTECTED BY SOME WAYS:-
1) FIRST THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD CLEAR THAT TIGER BONES ARE NOT USED IN ANY MEDICINES (BECAUSE RURAL PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THESE TIGER BONES ARE USED IN MEDICINES TO IMPROVE EYESIGHT,CURING OF BLOOD ETC.
2) THE SAFETY OF THE PARK (NATIONAL PARK OR WILD LIFE SANCTUARIES ) SHOULD BE INCREASED BY KEEPING MORE GUARD.
3) MAN TODAY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY IS EVERYWHERE SOME GPS BELTS ARE MADE WITH A BELT IF THAT THING IS KEPT ON THE CALLER OF THE TIGER IT CAN BE TRACED THAT WHERE IT IS, ITS HEALTH STATUS ETC
4) GENETIC LABS SHOULD BE MADE IN EACH WILD LIFE PARK . IN THESE LABS WE CAN PRODUCE THEM BY ARTIFICIAL REPRODUCTION .
5) STRICT LAWS SHOULD BE MADE ON HUNTING THE TIGERS
I think Aircel and the WWf are doing a fantastic Job . Its time someone did something instead of just talking . I think the one thing that everyone needed was a wake up call that reached out to everyone .. and Aircel is doing just that . Its sad that it had to reach this stage for most of us to do something about it .. But better late than never.. ! so Kudos to everyone whos working hard to bring back our national animal and is doing a brilliant job ..
If theres any way i can be a part of this in more than the mentioned ways on the website .. Im more than happy to help .. Please contact me if there is a need. In the mean time i will spread the news and also gather as many ppl possible to support the cause and be a part of the same actively !!!
I GIVE A CALL TO ALL AIRCEL AND TIGER LOVERS IN HYDERABAD TO MAKE THIS PROGRAM KNOWN TO EVERY ONE.
LET’S COME JOIN HANDS LETS ROAR IN PUBLIC ON THIS ISSUE
First when i saw the ad on tv about our tigers getting extinct i cried to death! how can we even make our national animal get extinct? like just quarter of the india’s population responds to this why not the others??? and also some people exist who dont even KNOW this!!!! my kind request is instead of making movies which are just USELESS! we can make a movie for our tigers a movie which makes every indian cry and know what actually a tiger is for india….that may help…..just ONE advertisement doesnt help!! wake up!!! just make it even MORE clear!!
EVERY INDIAN SHOULD KNOW THIS!!!
somthing should be done! ME ALONE cannot save the tigers if i were something than a middle class girl i would really do something like making a popular movie on tigers or something which makes EVERY indian know this!!! i SWEAR to god!! ONE! JUST ONE ad on tv doesnt help!! but ANYWAYS now that these many people are involved here i really AM proud of them obviously it wouldnt make a difference if tigers get extinct or they live for you but atleast have sympathy on something which lives with us in this world!!! thank you for starting this and thank you for being conserned into this matter but really the idea i gave may help or may not help but why not just try?? because………….
EVERY BIT OF HELP OR IDEA ACTUALLY COUNTS!!!
HOPE 1 OUT OF THESE MANY PEOPLE WOULD HAVE THE PATIENCE TO READ MY MESSAGE!!!!
- Pooja Conda
I HEREBY REQUEST TO MR. PRIME MINISTER TO PLEASE SAVE OUR TIGERS, AS THEY ARE NOT ONLY ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CREATURE CREATED BY THE ALMIGHTY GOD, BUT ARE ALSO ARE NATIONAL PRIDE.
WE CANT JUST BLAME THE GOVT FOR THE EXINCTION OF TIGERS AND OTHER ANIMALS, AND RELAX!!we cant keep blaming govt for everything, type in some words, and sit idle.plz understand that the govt is not killing tigers in the name of poaching. its us, the common people, and the disgusting fact is that its mainly 4 unreasonable silly causes like leather making and medicines.. and this is not the case of tigers only, but all the other beings of nature are suffering because of us ,humans..
dont we have enough medicines availabe from nature, and havent we discovered much, that we are killing our fellow beings like tigers 4 just medicine? the fact is that its actually a wrong belief in many cases.. most of the medicines in market dont have ny good use. the marketers are captivating on our lack of knowledge yaar!
and what explanation can u give 4 killings in the name of making leather products and othr decorative items?? shame on us that we are buying these things for just boasting and show off!!PEOPLE, PLZ STOP SHOWING OFF BY WEARING AND KEEPING HOME DEAD ANIMAL PARTS!!
and wat abt killing them for fun??who gave us the rights to kill them! how can we think that we are the masters of the nature and all other fellows are just made for our recreational uses and our fun! in fact ,these animals are the real creations of nature !! the nature has given them more strength and more natural capabilities than us. on comparison by god’s grace we are just underdogs ,the secondary weak beings after them! only because we have a well developed brain, are we this much arrogent that we are murdering them for our happiness!!we,the humans are the most cruel and unsensed creatures that the nature has created. no, we had ‘improved’ ourselves to such a pathetic position.our fellow beings dont need our sympaty, they just want their rights back!!
if we want to save our tigers, WE SHOULD TAKE THE INITIATIVE FIRST. yes, understand that each of us can make the difference.conduct some awareness classes in your locality and just get rid of all the misunderstandings that people have about the medicinal use of animal organs and plz make them aware that they are also a part of this earth like us,and like what we are saying in the case of nature,we are closely related to the nature and fellow beings. by destroying them, we will b destroying ourselves, and the future will suffer for these unwanted killings..DONT BE THE CAUSE.. DONT LET THEM TO BE EXTINCT ONE BY ONE, OR A DAY WILL COME FOR US ALSO..
AIRCEL really has made a great contribution to our enviornment by taking such an initiative.I had recently been to kanha national park and was fortunate enough to have a glimpse of STRIPEY… It was indeed a mersmerising experience but it is our responsibility that even our future generations get the same privilage.”SAVE OUR TIGERS” has given us an oppurtunity to contribute in this cause in any small way we can.
So freinds please contribute to save this beautifull cat and make our world livable.
I belong to a small city of eastern UP and here the most common visible things are………..haphazard traffic……….. encroachment on roads (It is our national duty to make a 30 feet road to a 10 feet road…….by encroaching it in very perfect manner by 10 feet from each side)…………..Cow dung visible every where like a round birthday cake is waiting to be cut by any car or scooter tyre………….and above all the Cow herself is eaisly available at any traffic signal, or any part of the city (showing that she is seriously thinking about the Indo-Pak relations, price-rise, Shahrukh-Shiv Sena Word War and other important national issues…….. many times you can also find a group of them discussing on these matters…sometimes they take this liberty to think about the Humans and their problems also.
So one day when I was travelling on the road and ended up colliding with the group of thinking cows, a sudden thought came in my mind that why don’t we make them our National Animal…..After all Tiger deserve some relaxation…they too need sometime to thing about their population (Tigers from India or China can afford and has rights to increase the population as we humans do). You can’t expect such a poor animal to do two jobs at the same point of time…one running for his life and two thinking about increasing their population.
Now somebody has to take the responsibility and need to come forward as the ‘NEW NATIONAL ANIMAL’ and Cow has all the talent to do it. I know some body will definitely say that you can not compare the talent and skills of a Tiger with that of a Cow, they both are entirely different in nature but I say why not? When American can elect Obama as the President after G.W. Bush then why a cow can not be made our National Animal.
…….But obviously a second thought is that so many Hindu sentiments are with Cows and what will happen if the Cow will start to disappear in the same rate of Tiger. So this idea is not that good. But as all ever thinking Indian minds do, I continued to think and then I found two brand new, easily available animal as the eligible candidate of ‘NEW NATIONAL ANIMAL’ one is Monkey and the other one is Dog.
The monkey has got the benefit of doubt same as Cow because of public sentiments. So he disappeared from this topic by jumping out of my mind but I am sorry ‘THE DOG’ you couldn’t put any valid point to save himself of being the next best candidate to take the place of Tiger…………
…………..So my dear Dog, your number is about to come, after all only 1411 Tigers are remaining in India (I clarify these are not my figures. I accept that this is taken from a famous TV commercial), and we will not take too much time to bring them down from 1411 to zero. So ‘pyare’ Dog do whatever you want to do…..run for you life, increase your population, do meetings and debates or write blogs like me to save your self. Because once you will be made the National Animal you will be the important one and every important person or animal always feel threat for their life. But in any case I assure you that if you became the National Animal then “Tum Kutte ki maut nahi maroge, tum ek Sher ki maut maroge.”
……………& My dear Tiger be happy…….we are doing our best to save you.
hi!I really appreciate the step taken by the renowned company like aircel & organistion wwf,it surely affects the human tenndency in the way that we should save tigers,v should save forests our national animals shelters.so that in future our offsprings not will not only read tigers in story books but can see them.we have to look forward to not only increase in their no. but to protect the remains also. thanx for the initiative.looking forward for a larger steps from u all…gr8 job guys
Im happy that at least Aircel took this issues…may be just for branding themselves and to compete with the other telecom players in the market… but I am ashamed of our Govt. who need such futile initiatives from private partners. We are not the killers of tiger…we can help them either by giving some financial help or by forwarding this message…but I want to emphasize on the fact that people who shoot tigers are not TV or internet savvy…
Only the Govt need to wake up and protect the miserable animal…In India Bollywood comes in front which is also more of a show-off and pretend to stand for the cause….that won’t help! Now even the National bird in danger……..!! Hope our Govt wakes up early and so something.
this is very bad news for all indians that no more togers are left in our country. As Tigers are our national animal so that’s our responsibility to take care of them…we have to save them…
The Transition è
The National Pride is to face extinction in the near future.
The question is who is responsible?
We in the jungle of human beings, striving hard for livelihood and fighting for our very own “so called existence” have forgotten the value of our lives and our neighborhoods.
The National Animal of our nation “The Tiger” never got its chance to survive, the very reason being us “the humans”.
The invasion of the human habitat into theirs has been a trend since we ever learnt to how to build houses. Never have we cared about the faucet of blood that has been claiming their lives.
They have been killed for every reason, be it for the R&D for medicine, fashion etc.
Victims for what, has never been justified.
We now remain with just a count of 1411 of them struggling to keep their existence.
I plead all to help this movement “Save Our Tigers” to keep our pride high and give them the freedom to live more……
SAVE OUR TIGERS
Hi,
Thanks AIRCEL to take an important intiative for saving tigers. i love wild animals and specially im fan of wildlife photography..its my passion and one day will make my own collection…..but if the count of animals go down then my passion will be in just words and wish.
My request to all indians; please stop killing wild animals or our next generation will see the tigers and the animals only in books…like we do watching the animated Dinasaur and imagine how it would have been..
They do have rights to live, they own the forest its their home..if we destroy their home gradually we are destroying them….
Suggestion to AIRCEL— if we can arrange a donation booth at major cities on railway stations, airports Bus stations…and collect some donation. this donation can be utilised for providing proper medicare for the animals..for using technology so that the animals can be traced….for making breeding zones…….i guess by all this we can atleast contribute to save these poor animals….
Friends - if we can donate atleast one rupee in a day…it will be helpful for survival for the whole species…today we are struggling to save tigers….tomoro it will lions…then elephants..then monkeys…..it wont be a miracle that after few decades human being will be in a zoo with the costume of animals and will try show our children how the animals used to look like…
pls come together lets save the pride of nation…
Jai hind.
I first of all thank AIRCEl for coming up with a great initiative like this. The main discussion is how to save our tigers, i am really not very confident, how these blogs or mails would make a difference. But these all are in hands of Govt. the system it self is Corrupted in supporting poaching. Now it’s high time that the govt should wake up and start supporting in saving our animal. Things which can be done:
-Maintaining the wildlife sanctuaries Properly
-Donating by visiting wild life sanctuaries by people
-On a priority the Tiger safari places need to be managed and controlled, in a way people who visit there, shouldn’t throw plastic bags or any wastage which can inturn affect the tiger
If today its tiger, then comes lion, then comes dogs and then comes man.
Its not only the responsibility of WWf or Govt but everyone need to join our hands in preserving our national pride, our animal TIGER. So please start various ways of communicating to people…….because word of mouth is still more powerfull than ads….
Dear All
I must say, now its a time to work something positive for our indian tigers. We have some of them left with us, but what if we loose them all from India.. Lets do something concrete to help them, to save them. We all should gather at a point to catch the attention of the whole world. We should help them as they all are in great trouble now, once they all will be lost and we would never be able to recover them in future….
SAVE THEM AS ITS ALREADY TOO LATE
Hi All,
Let me 1st thank Aircel fro this great intiative, Thank you Aircel and Team.
TIGER is our national animal and its our bound duty to look after the animal as we look after our children. When Tigers are left for themselves in forests and provided enough food and space for them, they are great balancers in Ecology. Instead when we cut trees and forests for papers and other things, animal’s space gets violated. It feels insecure in its own home, that is really BAD. Think of condition where we are threatened in our own home, how you feel????
Yeah, really worse right! Same is the case with TIGER. So please spread this intiative!
Main reason for decrease in number is killing of tigers for MONEY. We need to educate the people ,who kill them, importance of TIGER in forest and its importance as national animal. Join NGOs and lets help the tigers.
Illegal killing may be indirectly supported by China across its border, as china wants hurt INDIA in every chance.
Lets help our own TIGER!
Best Regards!
Only 1411 “TIGERS” left. lets take step to save them.
Our National animal need our help…
